Purchasing the car.

Since the Official Pricing has been released, are you still willing to buy the G37?

Post the reasoning behind your decision.

Where's the "I never was going to buy one in the first place" option?

The poll will be deceiving without that option since many of us poll-junkies like to vote even if it doesnt pertain to us

Undecided. As the price ended up being higher than anticipated, there are more possibilities out there at this higher price range.

Also, something about increasing the Premium Pack from $2350 to $3200, a whopping 36% increase for integrating iPod, removing the aux in components and adding two audio soundstages, makes me hesitant to "trust" Infiniti as much as I did before. I thought, and certainly wanted to believe, Infiniti was a straight-up kind of company. To me, this way of raising the price is kind of sneaky. And, if Infiniti wasn't totally straight-forward here, are there other parts of the car that might not turn out as expected or announced? I am going to wait and see. In the meantime, I am going to look at other possibilities. If I am looking, I might find something else I like as much that I never would have otherwise found if this way of increasing the price hadn't caused me to look.

(I had a discussion with the current car company I have been involved with that they just did not have any car I was interested in. I like my current car, but there is no current replacement for it and the other possibilities they have just don't do "it" for me. That situation caused me to look around and I found the G coupe. Otherwise, I would still be with them. Once you start looking, you never know what you might find. Now, I might find something other than the G coupe. We'll see.)

Ya at 43K which is where the G I would want would be priced, I am taking my time in making my decision now and weighing other options.
I know that there will be new news of other competitors coming in the winter.

Bingo! I am also waiting for the winter to arrive, maybe there will be new competitors. Spending 44k on an Infiniti Coupe doesn't seem reasonable, I do love my current G35 couple though. Don't get me wrong, I love my current car, I just don't think the price set was fair to the consumers.

I've decided to buy the G37 in the model's second or maybe third year, and keep my '04 G35 for at least another year.

I love my G too much to give it up so easily, and I've got the suspension etc. just the way I like it now. I spent 3 years getting to know this car intimately, so I know its balance, gearing, power band, character at the limit, etc. like the back of my hand -- and that's more valuable (to me) than the improvements the G37 can offer.

If it ain't broke, why fix it?

I'll still probably envy you guys with the new model though... and after a year or two I'll join in.

Undecided. I am in no rush and currently drive a 98 Maxima SE MT that moans and groans a lot. I am also considering a GT-R, M3, 335i + LSD + Procede, Challenger, 08 Vette, 08 Z06, and any other bad *** RWD MT car that comes out under $70K. Obviously the G37 is the lowest end car in that list, but is also the cheapest.

This will end up not being my full time daily driver, as I intend to race the car a bit and certainly drive it in some twisties, but I have to move to a twisties place first too. That is why the G37 is appealing. If I get it I won't be too stressed about having it in the city and exposing it to the elements nor worry about theft as much (as those other cars). that's really why I got the Maxima - it replaced an '00 S2000 that was just a pain in the butt to own in the city.

The prices are in line with what I want to spend and what I estimated them to be. Sometime in mid-October, hoping the dust settles a little bit after the introduction (though I'm not holding much hope for pricing other than list), I plan to order the following:

G37 Sport (6mt)
Amethyst Graphite w Graphite interior (Slate Blue may be an option, I need to see it in person)
Premium Package
Spoiler
Nav System
Trunk Mat

With destination charges, that should add up to around $42,265. I refuse to pay over list, and the dealer that I have purchased 2 Acuras (Infiniti store next door and owned by the same people) from in the past few years has assured me that won't be an issue. We'll see.

Any way you look at it, a G37 is still about $10K less than a BMW 330i, and a hell of a lot more reliable and cheaper to maintain.
