does leasing count? im assuming yes because we would still be considered part of the target market. if so, im 24, well under the mean.

i saw someone who looked to be in his mid to late 60's driving a coupe yesterday. that helps offset the curve a bit.

Goes to show that this forum has much more of the younger crowd than older crowd. Like I've said before... we're only a tiny % of the total G population.. and now incoming population.

Why not make this a poll?

I'll be 22 when I get the car.

Interesting stuff. I had just turned 45 when I bought my '04 Coupe and I'm now 48.

It is definitely interesting to see the splits here. If anything this just proves how small the enthusiast population is for these cars of the total target market.

If those statistics are for G Coupe buyers (I would count leasing), then that would eliminate a whole bunch of the younger guys I see driving G's nowadays. 1. The cars are either bought by their parents (as co-signers or directly) 2. The cars are bought as used cars, which after 4 years in the market you can get some G coupes for very cheap now. Not saying it isn't possible, but what you see on the street is probably very inflated.

If there was a survey for average age of a G Coupe owner/driver , I would bet the median age would be much lower.

Whopping??? I bought my Vette when I turned 46 and am now 57 and will probably be replacing with the G37. Give us "whopping" old guys a break--we like to have fun with our cars too

Old Geezers Like Sports Cars Too!

To 'da mayor:' Let's hear it for that 82-year-old! As long as he's got good vision, driver smarts AND has kept his good reaction times, we might all be able to learn something from him ... he's gotten this far, so must be doing something right!

Now it's my turn: I am a "Certified Old Fart" of 79, currently driving a 2005 S2000 Silverstone/Black. Lease is up middle of next year, when I'll be switching to a G37 IP/Anthracite 6MT wit' all de' goodies except Tech. Pkg. I have ALWAYS had sports/sporty cars with manual trannies and have owned two Porsches (when they were more affordable), Alfa Romeo, MG, BMW and a few others along the way.

Don't worry, guys and gals ... I will be hanging up my keys before I'll ever be a 'road-hazard' and when I'm not 100% sure of abilities. I live in mortal fear of being "Blue-Haired"** by some ol' biddy driving an "Excursion" or some other monstrosity with cellphone stuck to ear and/or most of head hidden under the steering wheel! (** definition for those not familiar with the term: Ancient, but worst of all, inattentive old bats with their blue hairdos who probably were NEVER good drivers in the first place ... they typically never look right or left, don't use turn signals, and have no realistic feel for what 15MPH feels like compared to 40! End of Rant!)

NOTE: I DO know some oldies (all over 65) who are outstanding drivers and have run The Dragon more than a few times. My son's Grandma on the wife's side hung up her keys at 92 (on her own) and never had an accident that I know of. This does not excuse older people who should never be allowed to drive - you can read chapter and verse on this subject on the web and in AARP publications, among others.

BTW, I have absolutely NO problems getting IN or OUT of my S2K, and even hit the Gym two-to-three times a week. I'm also a skinny Old Fart ... fatties don't "work" too well in S2000s.

just a fyi, median isn't the average but just a number that appears at the middle of the data set. So technically, the average age of the drivers could be alot different. My interpretation is that these statistics don't mean much. =/
