Is the Infiniti G37 REALLY better than the BMW 335?

Just to clarify, MT never said the G37 was better. It said the G37 was close enough to the 335i but the price differences was what made them giving the edge to the G.

I think MT did explicitly say the G37 was better by a "narrow but decisive margin". They clearly gave it "1st place" and the BMW "2nd place" in their overall ranking at the end of their review.

I agree that the G37 has a lower price for a comparably equipped car but that doesn't include the 4 years of free maintenance you get on the BMW. What is that worth? Also most of the BMW dealers are "dealing" on the 335i (a friend just paided $2000 over invoice) while you have to pay MSRP on the G37 at least for awhile. So at this point I wonder if price is a wash?

If BMW dealers are offering deals on the 335I, then I'd suspect the Infiniti dealers are also. In general, an Infiniti dealer is going to be willing to move more than a BMW dealer is.

Dealers are willing to deal on the G35, because they are trying to clear them out. However, I doubt any of them would deal on the G37, because they don't have to.

WOW... so now the body colored spoiler is starting to grow on me with all these new pics.
Guess i could live with that, rather than stick with the chrome initially and replace it with aftermarket later.

and the fairest comparison (pricewise) is going to be MSRP vs MSRP. Sure the BMW has the maintenance program but they only give you oil changes every 15,000 miles and don't cover other wear items such as tires (do they cover brake pads?)
One other price advantage for the G will be residual values. Who knows how much wear/tear the n54 engine will have after 4 years and 50,000 miles?

I don't think price is a wash at all.... First I am still considering both cars so I have been spending a lot of time on the BMW site pricing stuff out.
If I go with a G37, I want the following options: auto, premium, navigation. I am assuming this will come in just under 40k.
Now, if you price a BMW to get all of the same options that comes in those infiniti packages (some aren't even available) you will definitely see your BMW MSRP be 49k-51k.
As far as the free factory scheduled maintenance, Infiniti has the longer warranty so you need to consider that. Also the Infiniti dealer near my place offers a package with all of their vehicles that covers all scheduled maintenance up to 3 year 36k miles for free to all of their customers.
So no, for me price is not a wash at all... if it was I'd probably buy the BMW.

The more I look at the G37 the more I'm starting to like it... At first I was disappointed because they watered it down from the Coupe Concept, but it's starting to grow on me....
Not sure I can justify owning 3 cars tho
Only thing I don't like about BMW's is if anything goes wrong after its warranty is up, it will cost you a kidney and left nut to get it fixed...
