My boys 88-89 BMW 325i didnt need the clutch in to start it back when he had it in highschool. Fun car to drive when you're a 16yr old teenager. Goes over speed humps at 90mph like a DREAM! True floater that **** car was..

My old 1992 BMW 325i started without having to push the clutch in as well. I was really surprised the first time I found out

yah older cars manufacturers assumed you knew the car will jump if you start it in 1st gear.

Not to get completely off topic, but a few things the Altima coupe has that the new G doesn't:

- turn signals incorporated into side mirrors
- standard hand e-brake on automatics (G only gets it on the 6MT)

whats up with that?!

Believe you meant to say, "disengaged." Engaged refers to the clutch pedal position as fully off the floor, that is: in gear. (before Ike the Icon here hits his 'stick,' his clutch gotta' be engaged! AND 'disengaged' when he be whangin' the stick)

Who needs a hand e-brake on a 5A/T? It's definitely a must have with the 6M/T but I don't know, I like how it's out of the way on 5A/Ts. I know "sporty" cars all seem like they should have hand e-brakes but if you're getting an automatic you're already sacrificing a bit of "sportiness" in exchange for some convenience. Kind of weak sauce about the side mirror turn signals though. Don't the JDM V36 Skylines have them too?
