Agreed. The 335i and IS both received the same treatment as the G37 is getting treated now. It's normal.

Where? No way, the G37 has gotten a lot more negative treatment than either of those cars, and the biggest gripe about the IS is the lack of a MT on the 350. By far the biggest gripe with the G37 is its looks - now it is clearly more feminine, less agressive, and more "generic" so to speak. It lacks character. My first gripe was its weight and now finally everyone else is on board with that because it finally got through their thick skulls that performance in all aspects is affected by this.

In any case, I don't recall any similar level of negativity about the IS or the 335i. If anything the 335i was a HUGE surprise(in a good way) to car enthusiasts..

That is why you can't be to much value in it, because it always happens, no matter what automaker. Some people will always prefer the older version and some will always prefer the newer version. No car will ever please every single person.

It used to be that we buy the G35 because it looked gorgeous and it could beat any BMW and Lexus in its class. Now you buy the G37 because it is more affordable and luxurious?

The G is no longer a stud. Now it is just a facade. All show but no go.

All of us should be switching to the 335i. It is truly the king of the road and the G37 is the queen following behind it.
Not for nothing but you are right.. and if the price was the same this forum wouldent even exsist.. we would all have a 335i!!! if i have the money i will get the 335i over the g37.. such as many others on this forum..

Nobody is ever happy when the updated model of any vehicle is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. When the G35 was introduced, it was truly unique in terms of appearance and "type". While most Asian models at the time were difficult to tell apart at a distance, it was always possible to pick out the G35 due to the unique styling. So for the G37, the styling was massaged instead of reinvented, and the performance was mildly increased. However, the G still compares favorably with the 3-series offerings.

What folks should be much madder about (at least it bothers me the most) is the decision for Nissan to come out with the Altima Coupe. Nissan has definitely diluted the uniqueness of the G3x by introducing this look-alike bargain G--seems dumb.

I'm not as upset about the performance numbers but I hate the similarity in appearance. With Toyota, you are wondering if the car down the street is a Camry or an ES3xx and saying that the ES3xx is just a glitzed up Camry. With Nissan, there used to be no doubt about recognizing a G35 and, if anything, it might have been compared with a 350z. Now you will have to wonder if the car down the street is an Altima Coupe or a G37, and the G37 will be known as the glitzed up Altima--a shame.

^^So who cares? If someone walks by my driveway and asks if that's the new Altima, I'm gonna say, why yes it is. If they don't know the diff, telling them isn't going to change a thing and if you don't know the diff, then you need some help.

Wow if anyone has trouble trying to distinguish an Altima Coupe and a G37... they have issues. lol That's like saying... "Hmm... is that a Toyota Camry or Lexus LS?"

Then I assume you will be getting the Altima Coupe?

Actually, someone was looking over my shoulder while I was looking at pictures of the G37 and said "are you getting that new Aston Martin?", to which I replied "yep, isn't it a beauty!"

My father thought that the G37 was a new Lexus (which is a major compliment considering that he only buys cars from Lexus). So that's a major plus!
