"Infinity" G37 S and BMW 335 named Super Coupes

Re: the AutoBhan-- They could also be refering to the Oil cooler, since most day to day driving does not threaten the temp issue unless you push the 335's hard and for longer times, as if on a track.
That is the only place 'limp mode' has really been seen, on cars tracked w/o the cooler. Even the bimmer formus guys keep complaining that if you are not tracking you car, you dont need it.
Good find, always nice to see more shots of the car. Interesting that from above you cant see past the grill, but in the ground shot looking into the front of the 37, you can clearly see the plumbing....

WGAF about 0-60 times
God, everytime I hear magazines rave about 0-60 times, I just have to feel sorry for the magazine lovers who actually fall for the 0-60 times as an indication of a vehicles true all-around (acceleration) performance.
Pretty sad how they can't even spell Infiniti correctly.

But isn't 0-60 (+ 1/4 mile times/ trap speed) a good indicator of acceleration performance?

In reality, 0-60 times are affected by many factors such as traction, gearing, driver... and ofcourse, weight and power.
Yeah, those factors always affect acceleration, but its more immenent in 0-60 times. Just look at the 0-60 times for the current coupe; they have ranged between 5.5 to 6.3. That's how inconsistent 0-60's can be.
1/4 miles are much more indicative of a vehicles performance. It's ET & trap speed are usually much more consistent as long as its in the same elveation & conditions. But just as 0-60's, it can hide many things. (Evo's and STi's are a good example of how its 1/4 miles can obscure its actual acceleration & power)
If people wan't to look at magazine stats, I think people need to see everything related to acceleration such as 1/4 miles ET, its trap speed, 5-60, 0-100, 0-130, etc.
As for me, since I drag race, I use my own times compared to other G35's and similar vehicles at the same track event to see how I compare to their performance; its much more accurate, as long as the driver you're up against can drive.

Most of the other reviews say the G37 is better for track type driving (less body roll, LSD). I do find it funny that they would say a Japanese car is better for the Autobahn, especially since BMW owners take pride that somehow the German engineers engineered the car to be stable at ridiculous speeds because of the existence of autobahns in their neck of the woods.

I still want to see 0-60 and 1/4 mile times/ trap speeds in mags. Most readers will assume they did multiple runs and took the best time, and most readers are aware that given different conditions, the times will be different. The mere fact that different drivers weigh different amounts should tell a reasonable person that 0-60's are not carved in stone. Good magazines will say if the ambient temp is high or low, and will even test in both directions if there's a strong headwind. If the tires are underinflated you can improve 0-60, and you can sit a block of ice on the hood and empty the gas tank to improve it further.
It doesn't mean that 0-60 times are useless. As you implied, the more information the better. Look at the June issue of Automobile page 86: they give 0-60, 0-100, 0-120, 30-70, 1/4 mile + trap speed and 70-0 braking. That's what I want to see... and nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

its funny if you listen to the guy talking on the video he says the 335i coupe does a 0-60 in 4.8 seconds...when he tells you abou the G he goes the 0-60 pauses according to our equipment is 5.5 seconds. So was the bimmer according to someone elses equipment or somethin lol?
