and this is news to me:

In light of our more positive experience with an automatic 2008 G37 coupe, we blame the 4WAS system that is a mandatory addition to the equipment list of the G37 Sport with a six-speed manual transmission. "

What?

Uh...

In the video, the speaker stated "BMW Wanna-Be". Although its definately a direct competitor, I just don't see how its a "wanna be" car. The G37 definately has its different personality.

13.8 @ 102 mph isnt bad though.

I just feel as if there's too much BMW bias in this review. I love the 335i and G37; both are fantastic cars. But Edmunds.com just needs to give Infiniti more credit than they usually do.

and this is news to me:
BMW has been known to be too conservative with their numbers. Plus, we're talking about Twin Turbo's as compared to an NA engine.

Yea imo that review read completely BMW way's.

Still not swayed as I will test drive car myself when it comes out.

Edmunds vs MotorTrend? Hmm interesting conversation maker....

Our test car had nearly the full load of options, however. Big-ticket items included a hard-drive-based navigation system, Infiniti's new Four-Wheel Active Steer (4WAS) and the Premium Package, which provides high-end Bose sound, a sunroof, Bluetooth and all sorts of cabin conveniences. With an additional $550 for a spoiler, we estimate the total bill at $42,413.

From there it's only a $3,800 jump to our 2007 BMW 335i test car, also a six-speed manual. It was a conventionally equipped 3 Series coupe, meaning it had both the Sport and Premium Packages but no navigation system (and therefore no iDrive).
So they judge the price difference as a factor because a fully loaded g37 is only 3800 less than a "conventional" 335i
Is it more or is that misleading especially when they judge the cars based on the that as one category?

It seems as though the 4WAS overall is not getting high praise from the car magazines. I wonder how the review would've turned out if Infiniti didn't supply them a car with 4WAS...

When they speak of the points difference (2.3 in the written review), how much is it out of? They act as if we know all about it. lol. A 2.3 point difference out of 100 is small as compared to 2.3 out of 5. I don't know where I could find out.

BMW Assist telematics and various conveniences. Active steering is available, but our test car didn't have it
Wouldnt that increase the cost of the 335i more the 4g difference and no idrive nav difference?

According to MT, BMW's active steering actually messed with the car during tracking, so was this a selective omission???

That 335i didn't even have navigation but the Infiniti had the navigation (which is optional)... include the nav and it's $2,100 more of a difference.

Though the G37 seems more like a 3 Series than ever when you look at its price and equipment
I personally disagree with this statement...

I think it's a little misleading. They were testing a fully loaded G against a barebones 335i MT. Had both cars been loaded it would have been a different story. I see why, however, edmunds did what they did.
