Top End Power

I know that heavier cars take a second to get going. I do not intend to quarter mile or have stoplight races. However, i do care about top end power
. Spirited highway driving is always fun. Now that we have seen some statistics, can someone put them into perspective for me? The 37 isnt a rocket ship off the lineup but how hard is it going to pull up top? Comparable to which cars? The is350 is a monster on the highway. Ive seen it pull on the M3.

was the is350 stock? bc the m3 has about 333 hp wit 262 torque i believe
and the is350 has 302-306hp with 277 torque

Passing power on the 37 was about the same as the 335 in teh tests that I saw if i rememebr correctly. A couple of high flow air filters should give you an even better result up top.

Don't you mean exhaust? Air filters have a better impact on take off. I've run the altima w/ just exhaust and just intake and both. My take was intake = low end, exhaust = high end and combo both =

The G37 utilizes Ram Air as well. Adds just a few hp.

Um to my knowledge the is350 sucks up top. It has all of its power from a dig...then it slows way down up top. The is350 will pull like hell on a stock g35 from a dig, but up top 80mph+ forget about it. There is a video of a g35sedan racing a is350 on the freeway (both stock) and the g35 pulled pretty hard maybe 3+ cars. So if the reviews are right and they say there "isn't much power difference" between the 2...then i say the g37 will pull pretty hard on the freeway.

EDIT: I ment to say the IS350 is fast until about 70-80MPH after that...it dumps.

I dont approve of street racing, but here are a couple videos that kind of proove my point. You can see that the is350 stops pulling at about 80-90MPH and the g35 starts to pull.

that may work too... but like jnmunsey said- the G37 has twin ram air intakes. So up top it will benefit from high flow air filters.

I think the IS350 also has a slight shorter gear ratio than the G which helps its 0-60 time.

Wat is the flashing lite inside the is350 when the camera goes to the guages...i hope the guy wasnt being a dumb a$$ and driving without a belt on....

The stock exhaust can flow more than enough air actually. Remember that you want to keep some back pressure. Without that you loose a lot of bottom end torque. So adding an air intake to the car doesn't mean that you have to add an exhaust to get the full benefit of it.

I dont think the g35 is stock in this video , we all know the stock is350 is faster then the G35 and can hit 13.5 in 1/4 mile so how come an is350 with intake is slower than the G it doesnt make sense to me :s

I am not arguing that the exhaust wont help. And we are not talking about a blistering difference. But is DOES benefit from just the intake- simple. the stock exhaust already does a fantastic job of exhaling. The G normally comes with more restrictive intakes because of the focus more on luxury. That is why most previous generation owners went with the Z Tube (350Z intake)
