What does everyone think about the reviews?

is it fast enough for me when i hit the accelerator? that's what counts. I'm not racing anybody.. I'm not taking it to a track, I'm not drifting the car and i have no plans to modify the engine in anyway. If the car is fun to drive, is nice to look at and if i can still afford to buy gas after buying then that's what counts.
It's fun to listen to those who are concerned about a second off the line against xyz car.. but in the end that nonsense is irrelevant to me. When i read those rag reviews I'm looking for overall impression, how does the car feel, are the seats nice.. hows the stereo.. does it look as good in real life as it does in pics? that's what counts to me.

I'm dissapointed in both apects, looks and performance.
I would have hoped the performance would have made up for the looks which is what most thought. Thus far from two reviews it hasn't. 5.3 and 5.5 0-60 and 13.9 1/4.
Maybe drivers or other reviews will do better but C&D got 4.8 out 0-60 for the 335I for reference.
Would be tough knowing that the Is350 and 335I is faster then G37. If your talking about modding, the 335I will blow all away.
I would have liked Nissan to keep the original body g35, use the same engine but keep weight down. This cars turning into a fat lil piggy now.

I am just wondering what we are to expect tomorrow now that all these reviews have come out before hand? Beside the msrp which has basically been introduced in the reviews, i really don't know what tomorrow is to bring?

From Edmunds: "Credit goes to the well-tuned sport suspension and tires. Though this combination is capable of very high performance, the freeway ride is damped very well and we didn't experience any tooth-chipping harshness over a variety of poorly maintained pavement surfaces. Relatively low levels of wind and road noise also added to the car's long-distance friendliness." I am relieved that the sport package isn't going to produce a bone jarring ride. I was really unsure about this option when I placed my order.

I was suspect ever since they released the softened design. And, no, this isn't another "the design sucks" statement -- rather it signified that Infiniti was taking a far softer approach to the car as a whole, to appeal to a more luxurious market.
The added weight was another clue that this might not be the car for me. Not because of 1/10ths of a second. I really don't care about 0-60 or 1/4 mi. times, or hp ratings (that can always be changed later). But, most importantly to me is how it feels when driving.
All of my favorite cars have always been the lightest -- not the most powerful.
That being said, I think this car is getting exactly the review Infiniti wanted -- and it will be a great car. I am just not convinced it will be inspiring to me -- and that is what I look for in a sports coupe.
Only a test drive will confirm/deny that.

You can't just compare one car's performance to another, knowing that they were tested by a different crew in a different location; therefore, different elevation, humidity, & temperature; all which affect performance.

I have to be honest. I have an Obsidian black on order, and I should be the second car allocated to my dealership, but I'm a bit weary. (Please no flames). I initially went into it thinking that there is no question that this car would blow me away. I didn't expect super car numbers. Obviously, this is a average priced vehicle engineered to compete well in its price range. However, I suddenly feel the urge to test drive other cars and have their best deals lined up by the time the 37 comes in. I will certainly drive the 37 upon delivery and put it through its paces. After that, I will decide whether the price is justified.
I admit, I may have been spoiled with some of the best cars that a driver would want from a RWD, FWD, and AWD perspective. My two favorites were the S2k and the E46 M3. As an 08 vehicle, I expect a lot. Lets face it, the car is cheaper than the 335, but no one can consider it an economy car.
There is no doubt the car looks fantastic. But I am a driver, and I expect a car that can be in tune with its driver. The initial reviews do not sway me in either way. However, the performance numbers kind of do. It traps at 103, which gives it potential for a mid 13 quarter mile. But acceleration isn't there. Hard to tell without a comparison with another vehicle. They are vague on how they attain their times, so it is a little difficult to make any kind of judgment based on their numbers. I am not giving up my spot for my 37, but I have grown a bit weary.
I pull long hours at the office and driving has always been an escape of mine. My s2k and m3 were great stress relievers, but will the 37 be in those ranks? I suppose only time will tell. It does look great though. But then again, when I saw it at the NYAIS, I already knew it did.
How does everyone else feel about the new reviews/videos?
Also, they said that the 37 reaches 100 in 13.2 seconds, and the 35 in 14.2. Yet, when they tested them, the quarter mile was achieved in 13.9 (37) and 14.2 (35). Either my reading comprehension is off on this sunday morning, but it seems to not make sense. At least not to me. I would appreciate any sort of explanation any of you tech gurus have to offer. Thanks! Happy Motoring!

2. Seeing that you owned a couple of great cars like the s2k and E46 M3, I would think the G37 is right up your alley. It is common knowledge that the 335 is NOT an E46 M3 outside of straight line acceleration. The car is softer and not as sporty. According to Edmunds (trying to keep the same source), the 2005 M3 competition package did 0-75 in 8.0 seconds, the 1/4 mile in 13.7 at 105, and the slalom at 68. The G37 has similar numbers - 0-75 in 7.9 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13.8 at 102, and the kicker - the slalom in 71.3 mph! Of course, we've all seen road test where the M3 has been quicker, and we may see road tests where the G37 comes up quicker than these initial tests.

My thoughts based on the mag tests so far:
highly impressed with the handling aspects/slalom speeds
pleased with refinement improvements and MT progress
disappointed with weight of car (wanted to see the same or 100 pounds+ less than previous generation
disappointed with acceleration numbers (hoping to see sub 5 second 0-60 and sub 13.5 1/4

I know the coupes have always been heavier, but wow.
I really want a car on the low side of between 3000 and 3500 pounds.
