I ordered my G37 last night

Stopped by the dealer just to see what the progress was and was told that I could put a deposit of $1K down to have first crack at the cars when they came in, if I did not like it I got my deposit back and while I was doing that the GM came by and said as of Mon they were taking orders for the car to be built and should be in Sept...so I ordered it, Journey edition with the PO1 preffered package..grey/grey...I can't wait!

Which gray? Stone leather?
September might be 1 month later than the first ones... But early enough for an ordered car!! Congrats.

Congrats man. Part of me still wants to order the darn thing, but I feel like I'll be able to get a better deal by buying one off the lot in September. What do others think?

Not my idea of smart!

That's fine, they'll give you your $1K back if you don't like the car but from
what I see they could charge you anything they want for this car....like 2K
over window! Not unusual for a new model to jacked up pricewise. It's not
important enough for me to have the first of anything. I recall when the new
T-Birds came out they we're jacked up $3K.......not that I would have bought
one! I really dislike that kind B.S. when something new comes out....

my gut says you'll get msrp for several months unless of course no one buys the darn thing!! i dont think that'll be the case though. come aug,sep and into oct you'll prob have a hard time finding a g37 specific to your tastes (color and options). You might get lucky...

I agree with all about MSRP..that is why I decided to order the car the way I want it and don't have to worry about everyone wanting to "see what it can do" as a new toy...I am a little concerned about agreeing to a car that does not have pricing set for it..supposedly the local dealer has 2 coming in Aug and have been spoken for..so Sept might have been the earliest I would have seen one anyway..plus I am sure the first batch will be loaded with options that I do not want or need..and I don't think there will be any negotiation room as if person A does not like the price or option package person B will be waiting in person to take it...

You are right on both points. I'd be very surprised if all of the August deliveries don't sticker for over $40K.
