Sedan with 6MT can do 13.9 at 102mph, so with the added power, that's my prediction. On a side note, the new 350Z can do 13.7 @ 104mph (according to latest C&D article), so the added power of the VQ37 but extra weight of the car should make the G37 able to perform about equally.

The 350Z with the new engine VQ35HR in 350z forums got 13.3 on bone stock .. so the new g will have around 40 hp more on the wheels so i guess we will see 13.3@105 easily .. a good driver will get 13.2@105 ..

I hope with an stillen dual intake and headrz the car will hit 13.0 !!

The G37 weight ranges from 3628-3668 lb. I am speculating that it will do atleast 13.4 @ 105 mph due to the huge power increasement.

But I think we are being too impatient about numbers; speculation is usually always inaccurate. So let's just wait...

We know that the Z is lighter than the G37, but does anyone know about the gearing: tranny and rear axle? As you all know that can make a huge differance.

The weight of the G will hold it down some, so I would predict that most magazines will get around a 13.5 - 13.6 with a high RPM launch. By far the most important metric for the street is the 5-60 time. It will be interesting to see how fast the G is from a rolling start.

Some points about the above - as far as I know there is only one person on the 350z forums that got a 13.3. Most people are higher than that (mid-high 13's). Based on that and the fact that a major magazine got 13.7, I would say a 350z is good for between 13.6-13.8.

Also, where did you hear the new 3.7 has 40 more wheel hp? The new 3.7 as far as I can tell will have about 20 more wheel hp compared to the new HR in the Z.

My prediction based on documented G sedan numbers is 13.7 at 103. I'd be pleasantly surprised with anything less.

In terms of gearing, the new G has the same gearing as the 07 sedan. Not sure about the 07 Z.

If its 13.7@103 the G37 will only be matching the IS350 @104 while the 335I does 13.3 @ 106. (best time slips I've seen on mags and respective forums) I think Nissan will try their best to get as close as possible to the 335I. Plus their the last out the door so they had extra time to tweak and tune...

13.5@105. That's assuming the power from the early dynos is accurate, and a race weight minus driver of almost 3700lbs.

Are you guys failing to realize this car has more power than an E46 M3? Yeah it may be 200lbs heavier than an E46 M3, but under the new SAE standards, it has more torque AND more power. The E46 M3 was a fast f*cking car ladies and gentlemen. I predict 13.2-13.3's

My guess of 13.5@105 is a somewhat educated guess. Let me elaborate:

I normally don't by into so-called "horsepower calculators", but I found one that is pretty dead on for me. It's at modulardepot: http://www.modulardepot.com/hpc.php

When I put in a weight of 3500 lbs even(obviously this does not include me), and the trap speed of my last run(103.63), with a drivetrain loss of 17%(which is the figure Doug Stewart of crawford uses), I get a wheel horsepower figure of 264.87.

My last dyno(dynojet) yielded a high of 265.67. Of course, I don't know my exact race weight, and this calculator doesn't take into account gear ratios, traction, or race conditions, but as you can see, in my case, it's pretty damned accurate.

Now if you play with the inputs, you can start to guess at trap speeds of the G37. With a full curb weight of 3682(for the heaviest trim), and a drivetrain of 17%(***uming the losses are the same), you can play with trap speeds until you reach your whp target. My whp target is something in the 287 range, which is what was posted by automobile magazine. A trap speed of 105 yields 289, which is close enough for me.

So I'm pretty confident in a trap of 105. For that, I think an ET of 13.5 is reasonable, considering most current drivers(myself included) can't launch for crap. Hell, with drag radials and a high 2.0 second sixty foot, I got a low 13.6 at 103.63. Add another mile and a half on my trap(105mph, or equivalent to my projected trap of the g37), with the same sixty, and that would put me in the high 13.4 second ET range. Most drivers are not going to get a 2.0 second sixty foot with street tires, so I imagine a 13.5 is a pretty good guess.
