G37 hints at allocation schedule info
i posted this in another thread regarding pre-orders and the lack of camera in the nav package.. but with this new information i wanted to make sure more of you had a chance to read it.
the order manager at my dealer was kind enough to follow up with me regarding the no camera w/nav issue... listed below is the blurb from infiniti corp. interesting details about allocation schedules in there as well.

I found this in the batch, I think it answers your initial question. As you have the Tech it still would not affect your order.

Dear Infiniti Retailer,
In a letter dated May 15th, we announced that due to production and supplier sourcing issues, all G37 Coupes
ordered with Navigation package (U01/NAV) would not contain the RearView Monitor feature from start of
production (SOP). The only way to get this feature would be to order the Technology package which itself was
limited in volume.
We are happy to announce that this issue has been resolved, and vehicles ordered with the Navigation package
(U01/NAV) will receive the RearView Monitor effective with the June 18 SOP date. However, in order to get this
resolution implemented from SOP, we were forced to limit production of Navigation package (U01/NAV) for
June. As a result, some of you will receive credits when the scheduling process is completed. These credits can
be applied from June production. We were also successful in getting additional Navigation packages (U01/NAV)
for July production to mitigate the June shortfall.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue. Should you have additional questions, please contact
your DOM or National Distribution Specialist at your earliest convenience.

just to put my spin on this.. i think they're talking about g37s each dealer automatically gets from infiniti.. NOT pre-orders.. hence the "credit" reference. So each dealer should get say 5 g37s in assorted colors, some with nav, some w/out, some with premium etc. Since the first batch wont contain as many nav cars going out to each dealer.. they credit the dealer with those nav cars on the next batch run.
Worse case scenario your pre-order may come out in the next batch of cars because your pre-order contained the nav option and you werent the first person to drop the deposit etc..... or if you walk into the dealer you'll have less chance of getting Nav on (whatever colors they happen to have) because infiniti couldnt build them during the june run. At least that's how i see it from where i'm sitting.

Good find! Thanks for sharing. I'm sure that those of us who absolutely refuse to pay MSRP when the G37 is first release and wait a few months, there will be adequate supplies.

For me i'm fortunate that a 1 or 2k drop off the price is neither a showstopper or a moral issue... though i might be a wee bit richer today if i had those issues!

I am curious what the price dynamics are going be. It looks like for the release of the 07 g35 sedan, people were getting great deals (1000 above invoice) as early as 4 to 6 weeks after the release. See http://g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154612
But, it could be different for the coupe, though I am hoping by not so much since I'll be looking to buy in September.
Btw, I've been lurking the forums for awhile, and hopefully, I can soon join the ranks as a g37 owner, having wanted this coupe since it first came out.

I think with the coupe it will be the people in the larger markets with more dealers and the people who are willing to buy from somewhere far away who will get the good deals. I certainly wouldn't assume that the good deals will be common for quite a while.
