A G37 hardtop ... or is it just a rumor?

I guess if you live in an area where you get great weather year round and if "sport" isn't your main priority - then a hardtop convertible is ok. I just don't think I'd want a car with less rigidity and 200-300 more lbs bringing it to 4,000 lbs.

for what it's worth.. TopSpeed states 2009 for g37 convert.
Infiniti G37 Coupe-Convertible to be unveiled in 2009
When Infiniti launched the G37 in March, they announced it will be a big competitor for the BMW 3-Series Coupe. It is more than normal for Infiniti to also target the 3-Series Convertible. And they will starting 2009 when the company will unveil the G37 Coupe-Convertible.
The G37 Coupe-Convertible will have the same design elements as the Coupe version. Under the hood there will be a 3.7 liter V6 engine with an output of 330 hp and a peak torque of 269 lbs-ft.

I am more interested in an Altima Coupe convertible than the G37 Coupe convertible. It's a waste to chop the roof off the G37 knowing structural rigidity and extra weight will severely compromise its performance. Maybe come out with a G30 Coupe convertible with larger rear seats, softer suspension and automatic tranny only.

Are you guys totally against a soft top or am I the only one that thinks a soft top G would look sweet? I love the soft top Z's. C'mon this is a G35. Nothing can make this car look ugly. Not even the G37 that didnt manage to keep the best features from the concept coupe.

If it does come out, it won't look as aggressive as the one in the picture. Look at all the cool pics of the concept G37 and look at how the real one looks (more conservative look). So don't get your hopes so high. You will be massively disappointed just like the G37 coupe.
