It's enough of an improvement to justify it, IMO, especially when factoring in my dislikes of my G35. It would be pretty close enough to a straight trade for me (within $2K-$3K). It definately wouldn't cost me the $10,000-$15,000+ that it would take to go FI, so that's not even an option for me.

But here's the catch: While the G37 is about the best option for me right now, there are several other new models on the horizon that might prove to be an even better option. So I'm inclined to wait and see what's in store, rather than take the G37 because it's a great option right now. 350HP may very well prove to be a low, entry-level rating compared to what's on the way very soon.

To complicate things further, I'm considering selling the G35 and using the equity to buy a POS commuter. If I did, that would put me on track to save a lot over the next 24-30 months and get into a GT-R... ...if they base for close to $60K.

It's a hard choice to make; G37 (or something else) very soon, or tough it out in a POS commuter for up to 2.5 years to get into a GT-R.

Yeah, that's the point I was making a couple of posts up. There is a lot on the horizon. Personally, I think I may want a sports car. And that sounds like the direction you want to go.

I'd wait. The G35 still looks good, and G37 wouldn't be a major upgrade to me (as far as looks). The motor is great but.. I can wait for a car that has the looks I want, and the power I want. I don't want to have to fight to make the car look good. Plus if I get something brand new, I want something different.

'08 G37 or '06 G35 for a 8K difference

I did a 12 mo lease on a '06 last Oct. with Prm pkg. At lease end (Oct'07), i can buy it for $30,000 w/ 12K miles on it. G37 with Prm pkg will be about $38K. So for 8K, is it worth it or should i just buy my G35 this Oct.?

From my research, $30K for a '06 with Prm pkg is not a bad lease end purchase price especially i took pretty good care of the car. '06 vs '08, the depreciation will actually be around 8K, ie. 5Kfor the 1st year and 3K for the 2nd. This means that i will actually not be paying much more to get the G37 cuz it is '08 ie. when i sell the G37 in a few years, i should get several thousand more than selling the G35. The only difference is that i have to finance 8K more....but i do like my G35 cuz it is in great shape. it is a close call. What do you guys think you would do in this situation ? Thanks for all your ideas in advance .....
