It was definitely going to be a big increase. The new SAE ratings make all the difference in the world. This is what makes the IS 350 so much of a sleeper, when it really shouldnt be. Im glad I didnt buy a 335i. If I would have seen this, I definitely would have regretted it. Sounds very mean.

More torque at an earlier RPM for the 335i, but it tapers off much faster. The G37 produces some seriously usable power all the way to redline unlike the 335i. The plateau of the G37 torque curve for an NA engine is nothing short of amazing.

What's wrong with that graph above? It says 299.81 torque, but the blue graph doesn't show it. Typo???
Can someone super-impose the graphs? The G37 HR definitely produces some nice power. I'm looking for M3 graphs as well.

The new G37 dyno proves this VQ37HR is also underrated.

Torque is on a different scale.
For the 335, The HP scale is 0-300 on the left hand side of the graph (the one that everybody is focusing in on). Corresponds to the red HP line.
The torque scale is 0-400 on the right hand side of the graph corresponds to the blue torque line (unfortunately).
The G37 graphs have the same scale both HP and torque (both 0-325).
So it is difficult to superimpose the two graphs of the G37 and 335.

Wow. After hearing that and seeing the torque and hp curve I think I may be able to overlook it's shortcomings.
Very very impressive. Compared to the 335 graph, it won't have as much useable power, but it will likely be faster because of the extra power up top and very similar hp:weight ratio's.
Looks like the only thing the 335 has on the G37 is modability, bmw name, and slightly better interior.

I tried to superimpose the graphs (someone should check if it is correct), since it is Saturday morning in Asia and I have nothing to do except miss my G35. Torque and HP should cross at 5250 RPMs for both the 335i and G37. Thanks to Automobile mag for the data.
I hate to superimpose the graphs. I feel as though hp and torque is about 50% of the equation. The other 50% is how the car feels at the track. With an LSD and good 6MT, I think the G37 will be a formidable car. And it won't break down in the second lap.
