Chirp or Honk and Other Items
Do you guys happen to know a few minor details regarding the G37? When I was at the dealership, I failed to see what the 07 G35S Sedan had with regards to:
1. Alarm chirp or honk the horn
2. Nav can be adjusted while in motion
3. Confirm that the upgraded stereo plays MP3 format burned to a CD-R
4. Shark fin antenna on the roof?
5. Fog or driving lights on the sport model?
6. Confirm that the instrument display is blue (violet)?
Details, details...oh, how I like details... Thanks...

1. If you press the lock button on the intelligent key, the car horn will honk the horn. If you press the button on the door handle to lock the doors, it will give two fairly quiet beeps.
2. There are a few things that are blocked on the Nav while driving, however most Nav functions are accessible via voice commands.
3. If have the SOW, the in-dash CD player will not play MP3 CDs, however the trunk mounted 6 CD Changer will play MP3 CDs.
4. Yes, the shark fin satellite radio antenna is on the roof.
5. Yes, the Sport model has fog lights integrated into the headlight assembly.
6. Yes, the instrument panel is blue, white and violet.
I hope this helps.

5. '07 G35 Coupe Sports/Premium I drove had Fogs incorporated within the headlight housing. The G37 will no doubt follow tradition here.
6. Yes. Saw a pic of this posted somewhere; if it turns up I'll stick it in here.

1. Use the intelligent key to lock your car and your horn will honk once.
2. Use the button on the door handle to lock your car and it will quietly beep twice.
3. You can turn off the horn so that if you want to use the Intelligent key to lock your car, the horn will not honk, only your hazard lights will flash.

there should be no "technical" limitation to configuring these chirps/beeps/honks. i would expect any new car in this class to give the driver complete control over things like that. I agree.. dont' think the "honk" is refined.. and i'll almost always use the fob to lock/unlock.

Just me but any chirp/honk/beep noise made when locking isn't "refined" to me. I prefer to simply hear the lock mechanism and/or watch the hazzards flash.

Too bad about the navigation- My LR3 does that- I can use most functions while driving. therefor I don't use the damn thing. My ADHD won't let me sit in the car without moving. My acura is fully functional while moving and I'll enter stuff at stop lights, etc. It also has voice activation which I never use- it gets it wrong too often.
