no shop in its right mind would install a remote start for a manual transmission car. its just stupid and dangerous.

imagine you leaving ur car in gear when parked. 1st gear, you accidently press the remote start feature and wham, car starts and runs over a kid.

you on the other hand, can install it yourself. but its extremely dangerous.

Just for the record, that is the standard BMW key. It is not the $500 "comfort access" aka ikey. The comfort access works exactly like the Infiniti intelligent key, except it costs $500 lol

With all the technology available today, I'm sure they could make a sensor that can tell if the car is in gear prior to remote starting.

i have yet to see one manual car with a remote starter. go to any alarm shop, they will straight out tell you no. cause i tried it. we all know how nice it would be if we could remotely start our car for warm up every morning.

i couldnt even get the intelligent key with my car because it was a 6mt. so i'll wait and see if the g37 6mt will come with one.

Are some people dumb or what? Why would the G37 not come with it? The 07 Sedan 6MT has it, why woulda a NEWER model not come with it? Also, yes, some shops do install remote start on manual cars, and theres a special hookup they do to the gearbox. If it senses that it is not in neutral, it will not start the car. If its in any gear, it cant make the ground, therefore, the connection wont be made and the car will not start. I made a simple drawing in paint
