You can't pass that statement as fact! Each person will think differently, and while some may agree with you, some will disagree with you entirely.

I have no idea how to start a poll, but I'd be interested in seeing one that is limited to only people who have now seen the car in real life. 4 choices:

1. Disappointed by pics and disappointed in real life.
2. Disappointed by pics and now like it.
3. Liked the pics and disappointed in real life.
4. Liked the pics and like it just the same now.

It seems the people who liked the pics like the car in real life so far. I can't guage if there has been any change of hearts. I personally liked the pics and liked it even more in real life, but that is just me. Can anyone start this up?

...one more thing. Since the overall height of the car did not increase, could the car really ride THAT much higher? How much narrower (bottom of car to top of car) could they have made the car before your head would stick out of the sunroof?

Sure, some people will say that it looks better in real-life. But to go from 'The 06 is way more aggressive' or 'The front bumper looks like crap' to 'I want it now!!!' is a very unlikely scenario. Sure, there might be special cases where ones opinion change completely, but it is more likely that if people don't like the pictures, they will not like what they see in real-life.

Again, I completely disagree with you. Based on passed experience with the Sedan, there were tons of people that didn't like what they saw in pictures only to have their opinion completely swayed once they saw it in person. It wasn't like they were were special cases whatsoever. Things just look different in person than in pictures and I think the G37 is no exception.

I think it is more of a special case to find someone who didn't like the sedan photos, but then get persuaded to drop 40k once they see it in real-life.

What I am trying to say is that some things might look better in real life (such as photos where light reflections might not accentuate the curves as well), but core mechanical shaping and major stylings -- such as the front bumper -- will not change when seen in real-life.

I disagree. One example is the Ferrari Fiorano which I just read a review in a magazine about and thought it was ugly. I then saw one today at the yankee game and thought it looked great.

I agree with KageMonkey. I'm 30+ years old. Just for a basic example, I generally know what I like in food, clothing, video games, women.. cars. I'm not on the fence about this car. So, if i see it maybe there is a chance I'll love it? Na.

I will say that some of the latest pics I've seen, mostly side pictures, I thought the car looked pretty good, but I still don't get much of a reaction from it as a whole. My mind says 2+2=4. Simple. Not feeling it. I trust my eyes. No amount of seeing this car in person will make me want to go out and by one. I personally think the design team blew it on the front fascia. Perhaps because I'm an artist, I have more of a conviction about angles and style, i.e. what I do and don't like design wise.

Also consider this.. some, not all, of the people who are in love with this car could be glossy eyed because it's the newest and latest thing on the block. Plus, it's got a bigger engine, better interior. Just a thought.

I personally see the car wearing off even more as time goes on.. well with me anyway. Btw.. Not in love with the design of the new skyline either. But at least it looks more aggressive to me. Has some angles that I do like. That car I could be "on the fence" about. As of now, I like the new M3 concept better.

And consider that many people who are bashing the car are newer 1st gen coupe owners, who are more likely to come down hard on a "new" car.

Also, I think in general when you get familiar with a design over 4-years, anything that changes that may always seem bad because it's just different. The new 3-series has grown on me and I thought it was terrible when I first saw it. The interior on the car has not.....

I'm sure it's just me, but aren't video games designed to appeal to children and teens, and women "designed" to appeal to men?

Lol, I think that's the general idea but there are a lot of men enjoying video games too.

The concept was changed quite dramatically compared to previous-gen. However, it was a big hit, no matter what camera angle the pictures were taken at. Why? Because the design flowed well and it was unnecessary to see it in-person to realize the great styling.

The concept wasn't even painted if I remember - it looked like it was stainless steel. Not realistic. It also had no side view mirrors save for some slivers. The wheels were probably 20-21". Alot of those things went toward making the car look good.

I personally never liked the front of the concept. It looked too narrow and pointy like a TL.
