Car and Driver just tested it at 5.3 seconds 0-60. Too bad because they tested the 07 G35sedan at 5.3 seconds!
That's a screw up! Infiniti should have bumped up the car to do 4.9 seconds and put the 335i and others to shame.

Welcome to the forums, tat. I'm too tired of this subject to even debate it... it has been beaten to death.

I'd have to do some digging to find which mag actually said it, but if you really want I will. They are all biased. Most towards bimmer.
As I indicated, the M3 is better handling than the 335. The G37 (could be) slightly better handling than the 335, which could bring it close to the M3.
Let's just wait and see. No point in magazine racing for days on end... I can see now why most people don't take part in it.

I'm guessing a pesimistic 5.3 0-60 by road & track for the 6mt(5.5 auto)
and 5.5 0-60 for motor trend for (6mt) 5.7 for auto....mt numbers are usually slower.
Magazine testing is flawed. my supposed 5.8 0-60(with simple intake an exhaust with 100k miles on it) car consistently beats the **** out of a 5.3 0-60 car (z).

That M3 was a beast and now that the V8 is coming out OMG
Actually if you go to the M3 forum, you'll find that the reaction to the E92 M3 by owners of the E46 M3 is more negative than the reaction of G35 owners to the G37. Lots of unhappy M guys. Again the expectations were sky high, and although the result was good, it wasn't spectacular, at least in the minds of many existing M owners.

whether its 4.9sec 0-60 or more doesn't make me a difference. anyhow when they come up with these specs.. is the spare tire in? what kind of oil? gas? tires? road conditions etc. these things all have to be factored in. i know for sure with someone weighing around 250 they're not going to get 4.9 maybe 5.0 or 5.1 the G is fast enough stock for the money. just drive safe and enjoy the car. i now i will i mostly care about how the car accelerates after 80-90.. my brothers wrx sti acceleration drops to a crawl after hitting 110.. for me thats when it just starts getting interesting. the g37 sounds greater than the g35 at higher rpm.. hopefully will be faster at top end too....
