i would hardly call those who differ with your opinion as going "berserk". I'm here to learn more about cars and the people who drive them.. if i have something to say.. you'll here it here first! if you were offended..posting on a forum may not be the place for you.

I like the new front - they left a better vent for the Intercooler so I won't have to buy a new bumber. I liked the flow of the centre console on the concept better. Yes, the chrome thing on the rear has to go. Good write up, but as usual, some will agree some won't - welcome to my planet.

I think the reason why so many people are soo dissapointed is because they saw the concept first, and were expecting it to be at least 85% like it. Once that didnt happen they all felt "let down". I tend to be one fo the ones that like the car, and will most likely be buying one, next year. BUT, as a few have mentioned, it was not LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT. I remember back in 03, I was stopped at a light in my hyundai sonata, and someone with a dark grey G35 coupe pulled up on the side of me. I swear, it was really love at first sight. I was mesmerized by the car, I was shocked, went home and looked it up. Unfortunately, even though I like the new one, it didnt even come close to giving me the same feeling. I guess Infiniti couldnt make another perfect car.
Oh, and one more thing I think that people were upset about is the fact that everyone was expecting to be blown away like the first gen. coupe did, like I said, perfection (or close to it) was reached before.

It's interesting to read this old thread now that the G37 coupe has been out for a couple of years. I loved the G35 coupe from the moment I saw it at the NY International Auto Show. The moment I saw the G37 coupe, I thought it was an improvement on the G35 from every which way. I like both designs, but the G37 does exactly what it was intended to do---continue the styling in a more modern way.
The headlights are an obvious improvement....the taillights look excellent with the dual LED rings. Even the exhaust tips are now slightly oval and tucked up tighter into the rear bumper cover. The lower sides have an aggressive line to them that didn't exist on the G35. And of course the factory rear spoiler has a much more integrated look to it, which is just what I think it needed. Overall, it's a fantastic update to an already nice looking vehicle. I only hope that the next generation continues on in the same way that the G37 did for the G35.
