My opinion on the new G
I'm beyond heart broken on this new G37. I was expecting a car more like the concept but this........ It looks like a Solara, Accord coupe, Pontiac G6 from the side with that clearance. It looks more luxurious than sporty, which I do not like. If I'm looking for more luxury, I would go with the a CLK.
Despite all the problems I have with my G coupe (rattles, gas consumptions, quality of materials used, etc.), I sticked with it because of the design. Now with that taken away, I have no reason to sitck with.

i'd like to see it in person, in the right color and with the right equipment i think my opinion will probably change, but so far i'm not a fan, i really wish infiniti would've stuck with the concept's bumper and i wish those taillights were rounded instead of edged off in the upper outside corner

Bottom line... the exterior design of this new G37 coupe is very disappointing. The G35 looks leaner, more aggressive/sporty, sleeker, and SO MUCH sexier.
I don't like the front fascia or the rear lip spoiler. As I pointed out in another post, the prominent side intakes on the front fascia are FAKE!!! They are completely closed/covered. That's just WRONG! We deserve better from Infiniti than this kind of cheap, cheezy crap. You can see it in these pics...
If Infiniti is able to match the sales of the first generation G35 coupe (doubtful), I'm sure they will find that they will get less repeat G coupe customers. I definitely would not consider trading in my '06 for the G37.

While the redesigned coupe is slightly disappointing to me, I still think it's one of the better looking coupes in its class. If you look at G37's competitors, they all look MORE like their sedan counterpart than the G37 does (that's my main beef with the G37, that it looks too much like the G35 sedan). The 3-series coupe looks like nothing more than the 3-series sedan with 2 fewer doors. The new Audi A5 has almost the exact same front end as the A4 and to me looks more like a 2 door sedan than a sporty coupe (it needs to look more like the TT IMHO). And I've never like the styling of the Mercedes CLK in any generation.
I kind of think that the reason the G37 is being panned pretty hard around here is because we are spoiled by how unique the G35 coupe looked compared to the last gen G35 sedan. If you look around the auto industry, there aren't many (or any) sedan-based coupes that look that unique anymore.

The front end of the G37 reallly reminds me of the Mercedes CLS..... it's coupe-like, but not very aggressive. It's beautiful, but not gorgeous; maybe a little bland, but doesn't bother the eyes. So it's genericly beautiful, not like the original G35, which was a striking, heart pounding, drop dead gorgeous coupe.
