Some Facts that might dissapoint us with the 08 coupe
Yesterday i was at the infiniti dealership, and i am personal friends with the manager that runs this dealership. We were talking about the 08 coupe, and apparently i know they have something up their sleeve. I asked if it would be much faster, they said don't expect it to be as fast as you want it. (oh well)
Why you ask? He said there are a lot of factors taken into producing a g35 speed is not one of them. He mentioned how if the engine is faster, the lower the MPG is, Normally people don't get the coupe as a sports car but rather a luxury car for a day to day drive. The other factors are obvious such as passing emissions tests.
He also mentioned i can't extend my lease on the g35 coupe because infiniti is usually non-negotiable. How ghey...oh well guess ill be getting a new car in a couple months.
As When the 08 coupe is coming out, he said most probably May of 07.

Some friend.............
Until the 2008 coupe comes out everything anyone says is pure speculation!
It's kinda like watching Court TV, everyone has an opinion but no one really
knows until the jury come out! The G35 has put Infiniti/Nissan on top or
close to it. They won't put something out that's not going to be better than
what's in showrooms today.........see speculation! It's a "wait and see" deal
at best!!

I especially wouldnt believe the crap that any dealer states. I have yet to meet an employee at a dealership who is a TRUE enthusiast..not saying they dont exist but the ratio is alot less than what is expected...

Exactly. My dealer has told me so many different stories, but then they go and say "they really leave us in the dark when it comes to these things." Than YTF did they just say everything they just said prior to that?
I know more about our cars than ~95% of their sales team and they're trying to tell me that our cars put 280, 298, etc to the wheels! I laughed at them and then left.

I know and it's sad. And in some cases you all are absolutely right "Dealers (Salespeople) know less about the cars than the general public!"
I can't tell you how many times I personally have ripped into salepeople here for know knowing the most basic of things. It's their job for crying out loud.
Another fact is that Infiniti does tend to keep the dealers in the dark when it comes to new models. I've always felt that one of the main reasons for that is to avoid mis-information. A dealer employee gets some info, gets confused or interprets it wrong, passes it on to a customer, car comes in, it's not what the customer was told, customer gets angry, Dealer and Infiniti look bad.
Infiniti likes to wait until the last minute to release anything so it will be a nice surpirse and it reduces the likelihood of mis-information.
It's just the waiting sucks. I know. I'm one of those rare dealer enthusiasts.
Oh and BTW, our District Operations Manager for Infiniti was just at our dealership this morning with Infiniti's regional trainer. One of the things we discussed were new product target release dates. He stated the new "08 Coupe is slated for an official release in August. Which means we'll start seeing them in in dealers in July. This makes sense as the 2008 QX56 and 2008 FX35 and FX45 are being released in early this year May. I doubt if Infiniti will release much in the way of pricing and overall specs when they unveil it in April at NYIAS.

I was going to say something about that too. IFS can allow you to extend your lease (As long as you've been good with the payments on time) up to 6 months after the end of your maturity date. Now, this isn't an official policy. You have to call them and get their permission. I've known several customers who have done it. They can say no, but I've never had anyone who tried to get an extension get turned down. Especially if you are extending to get into a new upcoming model.

I told them flat out I am getting the 08 new coupe after the NYAS, and they had no problem giving me an extension up to 12 months, I said I would only need 4 at most (From April, Keeping my fingers crossed!) and they sent me the extension papers and I sent them right back in.

"Since the Infiniti Coupe Concept was unveiled last year, there's been a lot of speculation about the new G Coupe and what it will look like," said Mark Igo, vice president and general manager of Infiniti. "We're looking forward to the introduction of the G Coupe and the luxury crossover concept at this year 's New York International Auto Show. It's still a few months away, but trust me, it's worth the wait."
