OK here are the official specs for the new G- you can take this to the bank!
4.0 litre V8
395 HP at 2500 RPM
400 lbs/ft torque @ 1000 RPM
Continuously variable timing which guarantees at least 350 HP at any RPM within the powerband.
Torque multiplyer for the rear wheels.
Driver dynamic control (If the driver gets out of control the car will sense this and take control of the driver.
Limited slip potential (LSP)
Bimbo brakes
Quadrupal exhaust.
There will be 4 trims
1) Tuner Package- to include the following:
Automatic mods with sleeper mode (In sleeper mode, you will look just like a regular G, in Mod mode your car's mods come to life to impress the hard-core import tuners.
2) Ricer package
Comes riced out straight from the factory. Metal rear wing that sticks up above the roof line. 15 inch mag rims with Tiger Paw white-lettered tires.
"Wide mouth bass" front facia.
3) Transformer Package
With the touch of a button the car transforms into "gigabot".
4) Conservo Package
For those who want just a regular G-Coupe

My dealer showed me pics but he told me that he would deny it if I told anyone else.

infinti's in the works.... the G35/G37 will not be in a v8 form-- thats what they are producing a skyline. if they make another coupe it'll be competing against the 6-series BMW but thats years down the line.

My apologies on mis-spelling infiniti, it was 5am when I posted this morning….

Anyway the statement on the V8 did actually came from a salesman and the manager at Passport Infiniti in Alexandria Va last night, just passing on what I heard, had always thought they would use the same engine that’s in the 07 sedan and was very surprised to hear the V8 option mentioned 3 or 4 times during the hour I spent talking with them.

The V8 option doesn't make sense, just wanted to see if anyone else had heard anything similar

that's the last thing i'd ever do. makes me really lose credibility.

trust me i get myself in trouble sometimes w/ a lot of Infiniti Reps b/c i give them my .02 cents on a lot of things-- especially having the GT-R not sitting in my showroom

Why would anyone give crediblity to Sales people...especially in a car dealership. Like saying that the 280hp engine in Coupe or 05+ G is considerably faster than the 260hp VQ35DE

I'm one of the few managers that Infiniti knows I'm a mod freak and knows I'm waiting to take new cars apart and have fun.

I'm working on a fun project on the new VQ35HR right now with someone for next season

i'd say the new coupe is going to have two engine choices.
1. vq35hr shared with the sedan
2. a slightly detuned version of whatever engine comes for the gtr.
