The Motor Trend article didn"t happen to mention that the coupe will be available in AWD did it? At this point I'll take the same engine as the sedan... Just make the damn coupe available as an "X"!!!!!

damn looks like no info until nissan sport reports on Jan 10. What I do not understand is Carlos Ghosn was at a preview party at 8:00 am this morning for previewing the coupe and a new crossover. No car mags are reporting anything about Infiniti that I can find.

It depends on who was let in this "party". I'm sure Nissan only allowed those media organizations that can keep a tight lip. Edmunds, MT, C&D etc...Thus we there haven't been any leakage of pics or news.

why wouldn't the coupe basically be the same as the sedan? HP wise and in a few other ways like interior? I mean, that's how it was before, so why would it be any different now?

I would expect the coupe realistically will be about the same as the sedan, maybe a few extra HP just like the 03-07 Gs were. I bet the new coupe will be heavier than the new sedan, too, just like before.

Not trying to be pessimistic but I'm thinking car companies tend to do things pretty much the same way over and over so I'm not sure why people are expecting some drastically more powerful coupe or whatever..

We have one of the, if not, the highest standard of living in the world but that doesn't stop people from demanding more income. The only difference is that you have to work your a** off to earn good money.

I don't know about that analogy, income will indefinitely rise as inflation rises but horsepower will reach a peak eventually as cars become impossible to control and horsepower numbers just become silly and meaningless to the vast majority of the public.

Reminds me of the Intel vs. AMD wars more as an analogy where they had a Ghz war to see who could get the highest number until they realized it was stupid and that the numbers didn't mean the cars where better so they lowered the speed and instead focused on making the chips more refined and better performing than just a number.

I agree. However what will likely happen with power is what happened in the early 70's and again in the '80's. Either pollution will be a bigger issue or oil shortages and escalating gas prices will eventually reduce power outputs.

I understand your argument...I just didn't know what I said would be taken so seriously.

It's ok, I'm eager to see the new coupe too, seems like I've been waiting too damn long for it. I think it seems even longer because we already know sorta what it will look like. I like horsepower/tq myself but I can see the numbers getting pretty silly in a few years. Just what we need, Grandpa Joe and his 500HP buick on the highway!
