It's driving me nuts, why is Infiniti so tight lipped about when the new coupe is to be released. (not unveiled)
I'm sure it's going to cost them sales.....
there's a good chance I will be one of them.
If I knew the date, I could do some planning.
They way it is now, my butt will likely end up in a 335i
WAKE UP INFINITI
...... there I feel better now

2) If you can afford at 335i, I say get it... I doubt the G35 (or 37) will be able to beat it anyways...

& With BMW, when we first heard about the car (~last February) before we even saw any good pics;
It was know to be a September release; & here it is!
Why all the secrecy about the release date;
The only reason I can think of, is they're scrambling like he!! to finish the car.
Which would also make me concerned about the first cars made.
The uncertainty makes it look like engineering/design is having trouble keeping up with all the new product.
I'd really like to give Infiniti a fair shot at keeping my business.....
right now it's not looking good.

You've really got the bit in your mouth!! I feel your pain from here.
My guess is it's too early yet to confirm release dates and final information for the Coupe. The BMW info was available about 7 months prior to release and the G sedan less than that.
It's only a guess but we'll likely know something about the Coupe by the end of '06. Not sure about the scrambling part to finish since the release date wasn't really anicipated until early summer or so. In any event it appears to be a fairly lengthy cycle from concept launch to actual info and release dates.

Release dates sometimes get pushed back due to overstocked existing models in warehouses and dealer lots. Infiniti has been pushing the 05-06 sedan commercials a lot lately as well. My guess is that once 05-06 models stock dwindles down, Infiniti will come in with a more firm release date on the new car.

Good point. That could be a factor.

OMG, now Ian is coming down with the NCS fever (New car or Coupe Syndrome) .
If I was making the decision and could afford it, I would go with the 335i because of the reports I have heard from you guys and others that have test drove it. That power band sounds awesome from 1300 rpm up along with the great handling. Also no maintenance fees for the first 4 years among other things.
If you are waiting for the new G35 Coupe , you probably couldn't get one ordered for a year from now and I know you said you would rather have a spring delivery than a winter delivery which makes your wait even longer.

I agree with all you've said Wayne.
I think it's a done deal in Ian's mind anyhow.

One *huge* thing for me is the easy smoooooth clutch in the 335.
Especially when mated to that torque curve, it lets me get back into a 6MT....
even with my *old* knees.
On one test drive we got bogged down in traffic, it was no problem at all
I just hate not knowing what's in the works for the new coupe.
I know it's going to have killer looks, but for the rest
I'm *really* hoping they'll unveil in Detroit, so I will at least see if it's worth waiting for.

I'm much less than optimistic on the 3.7. If it's status quo w/sedan motor the 335 will win hands down performance wise. The handling will no doubt be improved but to match the 335???
It would be nice to hear some word for you.
