Roof Relearn

Roof Relearn
Hello all I’ve been dreading this day to come but it finally happened. So both of my convertible flappers are broken (the gear) I was planning on fixing that later when I get more money but, today my battery died and I had to buy a new one. So after replacing the battery I noticed that I heard a constant beeping noise and I know that in order to fix that you need the roof to relearn in the close. Since both flappers are broken is there anyway to manually have the roof relearn without having to buy the consult or fixing the flappers.
P.S I am going to fix the flappers I just need the time and money to do it.

Not sure you'll need a relearn after replacing the battery...To reset the top, You just have to get an helper on each sides of the trunk to deploy the flippers manually when you activate the opening procedure...They just have to help the flipper arm to deploy by pulling it until it reach the extended position and activate the micro switch ( one on each side of the flipper arm). And, to close the top, do the same procedure in reverse. It should recycle the top and it will stop beeping.
PS: Don't know if you already got the new gears but, hope you didn't bought the plastic ones...They don't last...You would probably have to re-do the job in couple months! If you want Solid stell gears, that will last forever, contact me at "guy.menard305@videotron.ca"

I haven’t bought the spare gears yet been saving up money to afford the metal ones I read your post about those befor. Now when you say opening procedure you’re talking about when I press the switch to open have 2 helpers fully extend the flappers and then activate a micro switch that is on the flappers. Then repeat the process to make sure it’s fully closed. I’m just tryi bc to understand because I’ve been driving and hearing the beep. Would it be easier to just fix the gears and then have it relearn? Also ever since I replaced the battery the switch inside the car doesn’t work for some reason even when I don’t have the separator connected.

What year is your vert?
Are the flappers hanging down(loose) in the trunk or stucked in middle course? If it didn't reach the correct closed position before you get the battery replaced, the top moduleit's probably went in safe(protection) mode.
if it's a 2009/2011 and you flippers arms are hanging free( on 2012/2015 models, the flap should get stuck in middle course as they changed the gear design after 2011 and the flipper doesn't act the same way), tight them in the close position with a bungee cord, close the trunk lid and try your top switch again( you may have to hold it 5 sec.if it does nothing on the first attempt...but don't do the complete process until the bungees are removed and you get someone to extend arms manually!
If anything else is involve in the top mecanism other than the broken gears, thre's no need to do a relearn procedure...just replacing the gears and put back the flippers arms at the correct position, will get the top working as before!!!

Sorry for the late reply just got of of work. The year is a 2012 my right flapper is completely loose and even if I put it up it just falls down. Almost the same thing for my left flapper as well I believe the gears for the right is completely broken and it almost starting to do the same for the left as well but, I’ll try and get bungees and see if I can get it to the hold on the close and see what I can do from there.
