Convertible Top Broken (?)
Hello.
My daughter has a 2013 Infiniti G37 Convertible. Recently I found out that she set a textbook on the back part of the car where rear trunk window is at and forgot to take it off when she was puting the top down on the convertible. The textbook got stuck and it made the top only go halfway. She took the textbook out and was able to close it but now the top will only go down halfway unless you manually do something to help it go down. Is this fixable? Or will I have to take it to a dealer. Thank you.

You can try to do a hard reset on the top mecanism by disconnection the car battery (for over 15 min.) After re-connection, press and hold to top switch (open side) until the top complete his open cycle.
If it stop again in middle cycle, do the reverse procedure(hold switch to closing side until you heard a long "beep".
if it does'nt work...well, you probably twist some linkage part of the top mecanism...You'll have to go to the dealer but...they're not all familiar and have the required experience with those verts and, they would probably quote trousands of $$$$ to replace parts instead of investigate deeper. The good side is, those top mecanism have safety features to protect it in those situations(something left in the trunk). A simple reset should do the job!? Good luck...
