What is the best year model for the convertible sport model?

I had a 2011 sport convertible, and was 2 payments away from owning it, when a crackhead hit my wife on a two lane bridge. Wife and kids are fine, all airbags went off, and I knew when I saw it, it was totaled. Being the cheap bastard I am, I pulled the windscreen, spare tire & jack (that I paid $700 for) and anything else that wasn’t bolted down. I replaced the car with a Mercedes my wife wanted, I've told her for 4 years that I want my G back.

I loved the ‘11 model, but as I research, I see ‘08 to ‘15 models for sale. Is there any advantage to the newer ones?

Like I know anything

I have a !2 vert. Somewhere I heard that the hardtop trunk flap gears were upgraded. I hope so anyway. I think the earlier model engines had issues with a paper gasket failing after many miles and was upgraded. All hearsay but I love my G. Best car I have owned. 8 yr/100kmi

To be safe, got w/2013-2015 to avoid the paper gasket timing cover issue. At least, minimize it.
