I thought ventilated seats were an option on the convertible only. I'm not familiar with specifics on convertible options packages, but the two people I know that own the model both have ventilated (heat/AC) seats.

My only question is why would a car that is equipped with cooled seats with no option for heated seats. ?

My 08 only had heated, cooled seats must be nice in the summer.
A lot of people I know have g!s, I didn't know they even had cooled seats.

Wait!!
Some G37 coupes come with vented cooling seats? (What year, Which models G37S, Vert, Etc)

How did I miss this?
I only knew about heated seats

Where is/would the seat cooling switch be located?

Look closely at the console controls. Vented seats will have blue and red on the dials

Still interested in how these work. Are they just vented or do they actually get cooled air from an AC duct? Maybe even some sort of independent venturi system to produce cooled air?

So are cooling seats just on Verts?

No, they are on some coupes as well but from what I gathered not in any S models that have the sport seats.

Mike, to answer your ques about just HOW the cooled seats are cooled...
The system to cool the seats is independent of the car's A/C system. The seatback on a ventilated seat is different from a car w/o the cooled seats. There is a "fan port" - a 6"x6" square vented port that houses the cooling fan. This 3-speed fan removes air from the seatback and seat bottom, providing the cooling effect. It works quite well, but not completely quietly...in fact, on setting 3 (hi) it's actually pretty loud if the top is up and the windows up. Top down or radio on and you'll notice only the awesome cool-ness, not the noise. And at setting 1 or 2 it's not really loud at all.
I think it is simply the "removal of hot air" that provides the cooling. My cooled seats work with the airconditioner completely off. I believe the electric heat AND the cooling fan are completely stand-alone units in the seats...although I did need to have the engine running for the seat-cooling to work...it didn't come on using just the battery.

Hmmm...wonder what the engine is running that provides the coolness. Maybe a cool plate like the heat exchanger technology used on some laptop docks and powered CPU heat sinks. The more heat applied the cooler it gets.

And to expand on the Smodel vert availability, here is what appears to be an Smodel vert in every way BUT has heated/cooled non-sport seats:

I just leased a 2013 G37 leftover and did a ton of research--here's the way I understand it.

There are basically 2 versions of the G37 convertible--the base, and the 6mt sport. The Sport model has the sport seats, that are only heated.

The Base model can be equipped with the Sport PACKAGE, which includes a different front fascia, bigger brakes, better suspension, sport steering, paddle shifters, and "manu-matic" (for want of a better term) auto trans. It also can be equipped with ventilated seats (which is what I have).

Hope this helps.
