filters at the dealer

Hi,

I am about to bring by 2009 G37S Convert for my first oil change (bought it used). I have about 25K.

1) Dealer wants about $60 for in cabin filter.

What should I pay for filters (including engine air filters). Are there 2 engine air filters? Should I get it done elsewhere?

2) Dealer wants about $40 for oil change. Not sure if it includes synthetic but will ask. If not should I pay extra and get synthetic?

Thanks.

One cabin filter, 2 engine filters. A $40 oil change is definitely NOT synthetic. Many have had good results using synthetic. I do on my car but I DIY for about $40 using synthetic.

If you have NAPA local to you they carry wix filters for almost the same price as rock autos wix filter. It's called napa premium gold air filter I believe.

Synthetic is up to you. If you do change to synthetic you could go longer intervals (5-8k).

You'll most likely want to only do warranty work at the dealer. Unless you want to pay a premium.

Yes. There is a Napa 5 minutes from me. I already got the oil change. Did the regular. The guy said I could wait another 8k before changing other filters.

Watched a youtube video on changing cabin filter where you have to remove the glove compartment.

There are 4 cabin filters. How do I choose which one I need? Rock Auto also has a lot of filters to choose from.
