Convertible top won't open

Convertible top won't open
Tried opening my roof up yesterday and it went up for about 4 seconds and then just flat out stopped and wouldn't go back down. Turned off the engine and back on, this time I could put the roof back down but when I tried opening it up again the same thing happened, 4 seconds and then stopped.
Anyone have this experience? My dealer is so far away from me, this is going to be a pain in the neck. For what I paid for this car with all the rattles and snakebites and noises, I'm not impressed.

Convertible top issues
Hi, I’m new to the thread, but I’ve read through many of the post as I am having some issues with my top as well. Here’s what I found on the trunk open error when you’re trying to put your top down, there is a button in the glove box, if you turn that off, it disables the trunk actuator and when you’re putting the top down, you will no longer get that message. But at the same time you won’t be able to use your key fob to open the trunk. Infiniti did a terrible job with these convertible tops. I brought mine to the dealership they don’t even like working on them! finally broke down and bought a TopDon multidirectional handheld unit so that I can perform relearns on the top without going to the dealership. If you have one of these cars, it’s a must!

Consult III is generally a better option as it will allow you to do everything else with your car, not just top programming. Although it's generally a bit more expensive.
