Top won't move :(
So I opened the top half way to lube the seals and weatherstriping. As I'm doing this, I watch the top slowly sag into the trunk. I start the car to close the roof, and it stops saying the trunk is open. Of course it's open, the top was opening up! So now I can't get it to move up or down, each time saying trunk is open. Battery is unplugged now, hoping I can reset the timing....if not, 22 mile trip to dealer, 34 degrees, and the truck is flipped open for opening. I fear a tow to the shop unless someone has a handy little trick to reset the tioming so I can move this top. NOOB LESSON LEARNED, DANG IT!!!

Call the dealer and ask them what to do? Maybe they can tow it backwards on a flatbed? This way the wind will pass over the outside of the top rather than through the cabin. I'm sure the dealer would know what to do.

Well roadside assistance is enroute, 2 hour wait. It will be towed just like you described, but its snowing right now...hope that it stops for the 20 mile piggy back. Dealer needs to hook it up to a consult 3 to find out what actually needs to be done. What a wierd thing to have happen. I had the top half closed and went into the garage to get the dry lube, 30 seconds later saw that the top had sunk into the trunk about 8 inches. I guess once that happens, your screwed...
DIDN'T SEE THAT IN THE OWNERS MANUAL...............

youre going to have 4 large dents in the roof....you should never turn the car off while the roof is in motion always leave it running and the 4 huge dents are because he basically slammed into the truck... it will be there for a while because when they finially fix the roof... they then need to paint the roof top. i hope you didnt tell them you truned the car off midway through and you told them this just happened.... good luck buddy

That's Yiddush (a combination of Hebrew and German)! I can't ask my grandmother to translate, shes been gone for 15 years. Google translate spit out this: "I hope you fix your Convertible sorry to hear about the top"

Well, just got a call from the stealership. They are calling it an "adjustment" and therefore only covered for 12 mos or 12K. I am still under factory warranty, but They want me to pay 135 for the adjustment, and not covering the damage to the roof panel. Not happy, called consumer affairs, complaint filed.....I've never had any luck going against the stealership. 9th Nissan / Infiniti owned, very disapointed....
