anyone ever notice their trunk to be uneven?

so i noticed that the drivers side (where the top part of trunk lid meets the quarter pannel and the top) wasn't really lined up properly... the passenger side was. not majorly... but i'm just **** about these sorts of things... so i took it to the dealer yesterday, they called me today saying they will fix it and it's covered under warranty. something about replacing some shims on the trunk lid to line it up properly with the QP...

now, the car could have always been like that and i just never noticed... i'm curious if anyone else has noticed that as well?

on a side note... i got a g37x sedan as a loaner... man... that all-wheel-drive in DS mode MOVES... i slammed on the gas, it downshifted and immediately my "race track" mode kicked in... both hands on the wheel, sitting up right, anticipating the turns... my wife was looking at me funny when i got in "the mode"... then she strapped on her seat belt and went looking for the "holy-**** bar". for those few seconds... i was loving that car!!

This is what I fear the most whenever I take my car to the dealership especially when they need the car for an extended period of time. Go raise hell and get them to take care of it. But you might be as$ed out cuz you didn't address the issue at the time of the pick up. I always fully inspect every inch of my car whenever I pick up my car from the dealership. As much I despise it, I will be going back to the dealership next week to have my window looked at since they have difficulty rolling back up.. *holding my breath*

GL w/ your situation. Hope all goes well.

Thanks. Hope yours works out well as well... I'll admit I can't complain about Douglas Infiniti... they've always taken care of me. Unfortunately, I didn't pick up the car.... my wife did. She doesnt have a trained eye like I do. :-)

spoke to dealer... they are asking me to bring it in to see if they can do a paintless dent removal or need the body shop... honestly it could probably be done with a paintless dent removal. it's not a big dent at all... in fact most people probably wouldn't notice it.

sounds like they are willing to work with me and fix it. which is all i can ask for... give them a chance to make it right.

i'll snap some pics and let yall know.

exactly what i had. dealer can fix that... covered under warranty. they end up installing shims in the trunk (there is actually an infiniti part number for these shims). i can get you the part number if you like.

just make sure they don't accidentally put a dent in as well.

i've got an appointment for Thursday... they say it should be able to be fixed with a paintless repair... lets see what happens... but i'm optimistic... always gotta give them at least one chance to right their wrong... (as long as it's not a big wrong)
