Climate Control Question - 2011 Vert

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum, just picked up my 2011 Graphite Shadow Vert last week.

I have a quick question. In the manual, in the climate control area there is a part about an ion control, and an icon that should display on the screen. I have never seen this appear, though the manual sounds like it should always be on the screen. Does anyone else have this icon?

Please see the attachment for what I'm referring to.

Thanks everyone,
Fred

Welcome Fred..
I have tech package
It only comes on when there's inlet air is not good. It only comes on if needed..
Read page 4-31

Negative ions emitted from the ventilators
help purify the air in the passenger compartment.
When the ion control mode is operating,
the ion indicator illuminates in green

I've got it on the 2009, non tech package. (sports, premium, nav)
But it likley was made into a tech only package starting from 2010 and up. Rain sensing wipers were also on the 2009, but is now tech package only.

Yeah - this feature is about as useful as the Bose Auto Pilot feature

I had this feature on my BMW and wish I got in on my g. It goes into recirculate mode automatically so you don't have to breathe diesel fumes or unburnt gases.

Thanks everyone for the replies. You would think they could mention in the manual that it's only applicable to the Tech Package. So far I love the car though...... Glad I upgraded!
