Plasti Dip 11 oz. Flat Black Vinyl Coating Spray - 112036 at The Home Depot
Its a rubbery and sprays on. The nice thing about it is if you dont like it you can peel it away.

Thanks for replying. I'll be interested to see how durable this coating is. If it still looks good after some miles, I'll be interested in trying it as well. At $6 a can, sure beats the cost of getting the OEM blacked out grille.

I've had my PD'd grill on for the past year (roughly 18k miles) and have gone through a lot, including highway construction areas and lots of loose gravel bombarding the front. Other than a portion that i accidentally ran my polisher over (it's gray-ish now), the rest looks just as good as the day it went on.

LOOKS GREAT Fez!
Plasti-Dip is fairly durable - I have painted my Jeep rims with PD and they held up over so pretty tough stuff.
BUT, the real magic of plasit-Dip is that if you dont want it any more it will just peel off. Consequently, if you scratch it, the surface is easily corrected with another spray of PD and it blends nicely!
