Spare Tire kit/Tire/Labor

While I was at the dealer today, I inquired at the parts department about adding the spare tire kit, spare tire and installation to my car. Here's the break down:

TBILL-S0559 Bridgestone T145 $221.13
999W5-JV000 G37 Conv, Spare Tire kit $253.00
1 Hr Labor $120.00
Tax $ 28.45
========================================
Total $622.58

I think I can get the rubber cheaper elsewhere and bring it to the dealer for the rest of the stuff. Sure wish my car came with the spare option.

Not in Atlanta.. G37 parts are hard to find in Atlanta from what I have searched. Especially G37S parts from 2010. May be in a few years the junk yards would be a good option. If someone in the Atlanta area has suggestions, I'm all ears.

Do you really need the install kit? Just asking, in my vert the spare would lay flat in the lower storage area, which is just big enough to hold a spare. There's not enough room for the spare to slide or shift around that tiny space so what is the kit for?

What does the labor include?

Mounting the tire on the rim and laying it in the compartment?

There should be instructions to do it yourself. Also was this a quote from gwinnett? When I checked last year for an 09 vert they could not find any info ona spare tire kit.

I just called my dealer and they quoted me over $700 for just the rim. I called back with the Infiniti WEB page and he looked it up again and voila.

I just ordered the Spare Tire Kit and Tire.

Kit - $253
Tire - $170

I bought mine from the dealer for $600 and my salesman helped me install it for free in the car. There are very minor mods that you have to do in the trunk to ensure the spare fits correctly. It takes about 20 minutes.

Oh, and the kit comes with instructions, too. The install is easy. You have to make a space fit for the jack and cut back a panel that is over the spare.

My price was a direct quote from the Infiniti of Gwinnet. The kit price is the same, Gwinnet is charging more for the tire than your price. It was just assumed an hour of labor, but it's probably less to install the tire on the rim and do any necessary fit changes in the trunk.

I don't mind doing the work myself, but I would need to get the donut mounted. I may just order the kit from the dealer, then find the tire at a better price from someone else that can do the mounting...that will cut the costs down some.

I'm buying from the Greenville SC dealership.

I'm driving the car to Connecticut in June and don't want to travel spareless.

Where did you get the Tire info?
