There is no reason it won't cover the roof. That's why I got it.

Anyways, did anybody go out and get the extended warranty? I am considering it because the top worries me. I figured if the top breaks once after the warranty, the extended warranty will already pay for itself. But if it doesn't, I am out 2k.

Speaking of which, they want $2350 to bump the warranty to 7 years 120k miles. Is that about the same price that is going around? Or can I get a better deal?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

BUY IT!! I just purchased a 2009 G37 convertible in November 2015 and I bought it before I drove it off the lot. I needed the peace of mind because I don't have thousands to shell out to get it repaired.

I bought a 2011 g37 sport convertible last year. Because of the top, I bought Infiniti's elite extended warranty plan for peace of mind. The dealership explained that it was about the best extended warranty I could get; coverage to 100k miles. At a little more than 70k miles I took it in to my local Infiniti dealership for rattle noise and worn headliner support cables. Was told my warranty would not cover the top issues because they are considered 'trim'. Also had a question about an airbag light that stays on with passenger in the seat. Apparently that's also 'trim'. Love the car but disappointed in the warranty. Plans are to limit my use of the top for now. Next time I will not be buying the extended warranty.

Friggin a-holes! If / when the top takes a dump and they give me a run around, I'd rather spend the money on a good lawyer than giving it to the dealer.
