How do you protect your convertibles in the snow?

Recently here are very heavy snows. And now the snow is frozen and quite hard. I'm afraid the hard snow will scratch my car. I wonder those who also live somewhere with snow how you guys protect your G37 from the hard snow?

I don't have a garage now. But I used a car cover recently. I have to pull out my car from snow these days, when driving out of the hard snow, I'm really worried those those and ice will scratch my car.......lol

I am in northern NJ and typically we only get a few snow events per winter but this year has been a snow-bonanza.

My Verts are in the warm garage & the winter beater/beach jeep is getting all the driving action these days...

I also get a lot of snow where I live, but luckily I park underground most of the time. Ideally, you should clear the snow off the car before you drive, because if on the roads, snow blows off your car and on to your trunk lid or something, it can scratch. I know because this already happened to me! I keep a couple of plastic jugs in the car, and fill them up with warm water and melt the snow off most of the car before and after I drive.

For minor scratches you should not worry as the convertibles have a self repair paint. (I hope you knew this).

Your paint will be fine. Just don't remove the frozen snow/ice with the scraper.

That self healing paint thing is a semi-scam. It only removes the lightest of scratches, if that.

Well, that's why I said "semi" scam. Some people will say it repairs light scratches, others on the forum will say they've never seen it work. In my experience, it will only repair the lightest of light scratches.

HAHA, that's true enough. Actually, I thought the scratch shield was discontinued for 2010 models. It was around in 2009, and then they offered it again in 2011. Does anyone know for sure?

Nissan started this Paint Scratch shield in 2008 and it's used on 2009 onwards,
here's gr8 article if you want to read about it:

Oh I know, I read the same things when the scratch shield came out. However, in real life, most forum members seem to think it doesn't work....or at least, not well. There was also some concern about whether you could detail a car with this clearcoat like you would a normal car, i.e. can you polish it the same way...etc.
