Hi, maybe its really stupid question, but i gotta ask some ppl out here
I own a 09 g37s coupe and had to take it to dealer for some issues.

And the dealership told me I am getting a convertible loaner.
I was all excited, and they told me that they disabled the top-down since so many people has problems with it.

so i actually got the coupe looking like convertible.
(disabled hard top down=coupe)

My car will be in a dealership for about week, so at least I want to drive and feel with top down.

Do any ppl here know how to enable it?
They said they disabled it, so there should be a way to enable it as well
right?

If anybody knows, let me know so I can at least drive top down for couple days.

And if anybody also teaches me how to use the top down properly that will be great.

Is the partition in the trunk raised? I've not heard of it purposely being blocked before.if anything blocks the top from going down in the trunk or the partition is not up then it will fail.

i dont know exactly what u meant by the partition part
but when i was talking to technician from the dealership, he told me that its not hard at all to enable it, but he could not just tell me about it.

They likely just unplugged the switch lol

Th trunk has a mat with a seperator built into it. The seperator lifts up from the trunk mat and clicks into the edge. See image below. The pic is borrowed from autoblog.com

They could unplug the switch that controls the roof, or unplug the switch in the trunk. The switch which recognizes that the partion is up. The switch is in the driver side lock of the partition.

thats pretty fancy of them to give u a convertible, usually they give the cheapest car possible

If they run out of loaners, they usually give you anything they can find... I had to bring my brand new convertible in a couple times over the last few weeks for problems that should not have existed when taking delivery of a brand new car... 2 days ago when they needed the car for the day, I got an 07 M35 fully loaded... it was apparently a car they just got from a trade in :/

you can ask for anything you want. Not that you'll get it as a loaner. But I asked for an M56S , but only got an M37. It's so awesome the M37 seat belts mechanically retract, but that's a different thread LOL. I hope they fix that in the future.

yeah my back seperater was down so i lifted it back up
also my back windows do (goes down and up ) function
so i dont know why top is not goin down
if they unplugeed it, where can i find and plug it back?
and can anybody tell me steps how to work on top down?
maybe i dont know how to function it.

I bet you this car has roof retraction problem and that's why a loaner... but lame that dealer would give you convertible ...which you really can't enjoy .

When you press the button to take the top down does it make any beeping or inform you of anything on the display screen on the guage cluster?

i rolled down the back window and lifted back seperater and hold the top down button nothing happens
