Oh boy now that's exciting
I'll take the 2.5L Turbo anyday over the N/A 3.7L, especially if it doesn't come with the lame VVEL lol

I highly doubt this will only have 250 hp. The G25 in China already has 235 hp and 187 lb.ft. Adding a turbo and only gaining 15 more hp makes no sense at all.
The VQ25DET is the non HR engine and makes 280 hp/300 lb.ft. The HR version with turbo should do better, unless they restrict it as to not step on the toes of the VQ37.
Turbocharging might be the future for Infiniti. A VR35DETT with around 360hp/360lb.ft would be damn cool and would step right over the new S4 and 335i.

I doublt they'd come up with a VR35DETT when their VR38DETT is already out there whooping azz. A smaller VQ25 looks more like their path

They could have both a turbo 2.5 and a turbo 3.5 (VR35DETT).
The VQ38DETT used in the GT-R would probably be overkill.

Might be a dumb question...but won't the 2012 G be "All New". The G line will be "old" for 2011 (5th year of a model). Using past performance, 2012 should bring a new engineered car. OR
1. Drop the 2.5turbo in the 2011 G and carry it over for an all new G the next year.
2. The G will not get an overhaul till 2013 model year.
3. I'm making no sense.

I think it's good for Infiniti just not the way I would have done it. I think small displacement lower pressure turbo motors are for the birds (I owned an Audi 1.8T and have driven others). I'm just not a fan of turbos unless you need to go somewhere an NA motor can't whether it be weight, packaging or need for gross qty of bhp.
In another thread I predicted they would follow a similar path (mutiple engine offerings) but why not 250bhp (2.5L) and a 350bhp (3.7L)? Simpler engines, lower cost, better reliability and more fitting with their brand image as a driver's car. There's no replacement for displacement!
