They have to position it accordingly since they have to take into consideration the new Altima Coupe, the upcoming Z (supposedly hugely upscaled) and there should be a new coupe coming out to replace the Z's former position. This is a toughy, from a marketing point of view, since they can't just focus on the BMW 1, they have to take all relevant things into consideration.
But Nissan's been on such a roll for the past 7-8 years that it's hard to see them fcking this up.

i have never heard of this rumor b4...only rumor i heard was that the next Z was going to be smaller and lighter than the current Z...a third coupe under "nissan" would be a bad idea, if it's not a small coupe that would compete with the likes of civic Si

There's no way Nissan would produce a 2.5-2.7l G to compete with the 1-Series. They already dropped a 2.5L in the Altima coupe and even if that thing was an Infiniti it could never out run a Gallardo. I don't forsee this happening.. Another dull photochop to rassle up some propaganda.

If you take a look at the official G37 sketch (http://cache.jalopnik.com/assets/res...g35_sketch.jpg), it is pretty obvious that the new sketch has the same artistic style: from the angle of the A-pillar to the shading. In other words, it is more likely than not that the new sketch is officially from Infiniti.

hmmm I hope that they smooth out that character line if they do release this. Otherwise this has very similar styling cues as the renderings for the 370Z.
The other coupe that is rumored to be released for Nissan is the return of the RWD Sylvia(SX). I bet it takes place of the Altima Coupe.

Car and Driver recorded the following in tests of the M3 and the 135i:
2008 M3 E92:
0-60: 4.3 (Both DCT and MT)
Quarter Mile: 12.7 at 113 (DCT), 12.8 at 113 (MT)
0-150: 26 (DCT), 24.3 (MT)
2008 135i:
0-60: 4.7
Quarter Mile: 13.3 at 106
0-150: Infinity
While BMW pumps a lot out of a 3 liter engine, it doesn't compare to the M3 any more than the M3 can compare to an SLR. Sure, the 1 series is quick, but don't get ahead of yourself--it isn't that quick. I wasn't even talking about speed, anyway.

First of all, I wasn't talking at all about how fast the cars are. Second of all, that video is a joke.

Also, note that the video compared the prior M3 generation to the new 135i and 335i. The new M3 is a ridiculous beast.
