That's a good question about whether or not it'll come standard. I still think their sport models will be priced higher, so it probably will come standard. I would've seriously considered getting auto if 7spd was available for this generation.
I wonder what the gas mileage on that thing's gonna be...

Shorter gearing in each gear allows for faster acceleration. Think about it as higher Final Drive upgrade for MT cars but improvement on gas milage as well.

I'm not so sure about that. If the 09 G37 Sedan will be equipped with one, I can only assume the G37 Coupe will as well. The Sedan and Coupe have always shared the same tranny options so I don't see them changing that now. Besides, I don't think Infiniti can afford to wait until the 2010 MY to introduce a 7AT when pretty much all of the competition is already offering more gears. Just my .02 cents at least.

I totally agree with you. Every car the G37 competes against has at least a 6AT. I don't think they can go on longer with a 5AT (especially considering the 335i is already the faster car. This may help to steer some of the 6AT 335i buyers to the G37).
