my point was, you guys are comparing a computer system to a car. a computer system costs MUCH less than a car so when a change comes around it's not that big of a deal. I am not naive enough to think NOTHING will change on a car but i am a bit disappointed that after one year a new transmission is being rolled out. now if this was for a mid model refresh or something thats fine but after one year? either way arguing about this is retarded, everyone has a right to be mad at whatever they want so yea...
Infiniti should of had the 7AT in the first place. They have been using this 5AT for quite some time now.

You buy when you buy with the choices you have at the time. The 7At was probably not released for more then a few reasons that only Infiniti knows. Seriously it doesn't matter...
If everyone waited until the "perfect" combination came around.. then we'd be waiting for ever. I'm sure when the 7AT is released, that there will be some options "a few months away" that the people who bought the 7AT will say "that sucks.. why was that not made aware to me when I bought"..
Hind sight is 20/20 my friends. Never regret your decisions. Make the best of what you have and enjoy.

For those who already have the G37 with the 5A; enjoy every single mile of it.

oh dont get me wrong, I am enjoying every minute of my G, that's for sure. All I said was I was peeved that a 7AT was being rolled out so soon. Which I still think is a bit unheard of. But to each his own...:end:

I'm with you Taxtix1...
...most likely the same goobers that watered down the NAV & Voice functions were also in charge of getting/deciding on a more current automatic ready. I'm glad I got the 6MT in light of this sort of thing - probably won't help auto's resale for those so inclined...but it's (5AT) still a great car.

Everyone has been wanting this 7 speed over the 5 speed, lets just hope it works out for the best. I know a lot of mercedes owners that have the 7 speed, and wish that MB would just go back to a 5 speed.

indecisive shifting from what i hear, and overall transmission problems being their new technology. But never owning one, I can't really speak from experience.

I guess another way to look at it is that this is also something that is "new" in the 2nd year G so people who refuse to buy a first year model because of bugs will have to deal with it in the 09 G. Either way, be it 5AT or 7AT still a fantastic car!

The FX in the showroom already has the 7speed. Somebody could go test drive and report back.
