Nissan would not step on the toes of its "HALO" car and steal what little sales that it'll bring. A better bet would be a V8 G to keep up with its Lux. counter-parts IE: the IS-F,M3,and S5.

I really don't see a V8 G ever coming out. Big blocks tend to be an American thing. Japanese makers like to build things smarter. Also you have the price of gas and now the government requiring auto makers to make more fuel efficient cars (which I think is cool) so I wouldn't hold your breath. Now seeing a turbo charged G in the next year or two might be a real possibility.

2. Gas mileage is not as big as a concern in the lux. market plus a twin turbo 500 hp V6 is going to use up just as much and probably more gas than a V8.
And while yes the gov. in crackdown on the enviroment which I too is much needed. It'll probably be more of a compromise type of deal were as most of the high volume cars ( IE the sub 25k market ) will be made more efficient to offset all the corvettes, viper, and big motor lux. cars sells.
the V8 G will come hopefully sooner than later.

1. Japan has been making V8's (4.0, 4.5, 5.6 ) for almost as long as I can remember.

Most of their V8's that I can think of are on their trunks not their cars. Infiniti only has the M and that is the higher model. I seriously doubt that we will see a V8 G Coupe. It doesn't make sense. They might as well make a M Coupe with the V8 then turn the G into a V8. A turbo-charged G yes but a V8 G is not going to happen.
and how can it not make sence when all their comp. has gone v8 ( m3,s5,ls-f) ... twins would be nice but to keep with their refined idea I think it makes alot of sence to go with a v8.

Again that is a truck or SUV, not a car.
Stupid Toyota (Lexus). I now they say there are a Japanese company but I swear they have to be American, European, or maybe Chinese. And the SC would be the only model that the G might be competing against. The LS and GS are sedans which would compete against the M for Infiniti. And for the other models listed, remember that Nissan and Infiniti are the same so the GT-R will be able to match up to them as far as performance. I still don't see a G going to V8 and still think that a M45 Coupe is more likely if Infiniti really wants to compete for this luxury coupe level.
