G50 V8.

I wouldn't say no or yes to this. We don't know, but we have heard rumors before about a g50 so it wouldn't exactly surprise me. Yes, the G37 could pretty easily accommodate a v8 so, I don't see the problem there. What is it with auto manufactures now? Everybody is definitely craving the hp right now lol. I love it!!!

Oh, I get it now. The G50 (if it happens) will be the car that has the design elements from the coupe concept and probably look identical to it. The G37 coupe will be the option for the guy who doesn't make 100K a year to afford a G50 but wants something a little sportier than the sedan.

man, that article/rumor.. thing posted is just fulla ****...
and who da hell wrote the 07 sedan beats on bmw 328/335? lol.. i love my G and all, but comeon.. bmw is the benchmark for a reason and continue to be... what kinda bs is "G is a better...XXX"? anyone saw 07 sedan just lost the "head to head" to the ugly azz 328? well, i couldtn believe it and think it's stupid, but that's how C&D tested. now, we all know 335i is way ahead of the 07 sedan/coupe..whatever u have it.
is the G37 up to 335i level? i think it's alot closer, but we wont know until the production G37 comes out and been tested straight up against a 335i. tall task though..
some people live in rumor-land too much.

STAGE TWO:
Y'all have also read Edmunds review of how the new G37 coupe trounces the 335 coupe. That's nothing new or shocking as I've always said G35 coupe was a much superior driving vehicle than the 3serie. It is a sports car after all and not a retuned luxury sedan/coupe. The current G35 will easily match or surpass the E46 M3 at the track while having less HP. As time goes by, more and more magazine tests will confirm Edmunds review to be spot on. I however think one magazine will give the nod to the 335. That mag is Car and Driver as those old farts are more into refinement. They will call it a performance shootout, but let the inferior performer win due to superior refinement.
G50 will be marketed to luxury buyers looking for some performance while GT-R will still be the uncompramised performance king that enthusiasts worldwide seek due to it's tunning potential.

I would think that a G50 would be a direct response to the new M3 or IS500. It could be a true performance/luxury car that the aformentioned cars are positioning themselves to be. I was kind of disappointed when the M45 came out because I had been hoping that Infiniti would drop their V8 into the G35 Sedan and G35 Coupe. From several people on the site here who have dropped in a V8, plus the fact that there is an Infiniti G35 Coupe racing in Grand Am racing with a V8 would seem to make a case for a G50. I am sure that Infiniti has looked into it.

Just my personal preference, but I think it would be a better car if they dropped the GTR engine in it, instead of a V8. Better power potential, easier to mod, reduce the per unit cost of an engine they already have, etc.
That, and drop 300 pounds off the car.

BTW - the average HIGH temp for Feb in Phoenix is 69 degrees... 47 as the low.
Uh-huh.
