My guess is that they both use the same mirror.

Just installed mine as well. Had to shave it down with a dremel, but it wasn't much. Fits pretty well, the only thing that is bad is that I can't pull the lever to flip the mirror into anti-glare mode (something you homelink mirror people dont have to worry about!) Its solid, and pretty stealthy. Here is a night pic:
and here is a pic with lights on. Got all the things I need to travel with now at my fingertips: Garmin GPS, cellphone in a Proclip holder, and the Passport 8500:

My car lacks the Premium Package too. I got a 2005 Premium mirror on eBay for $60 and had Lokey install it. Lokey also installed a hot-link for my Valentine 1 at the same time.
Don't underestimate the value of the auto-dimming mirror. It is a tremendous feature... it only dims as much as required and also seems to have the capacity to dim much darker than my original non-premium mirror.
Changing my mirror to the auto-dim version is one of my best mods... probably not sexy enough to warrant putting in my Sig, but I really like it.

Hmm, thats not a bad idea jb. I'll have to add that to my list of mods. Do you know if he had to pull the whole mirror assembly from the windsheild, or if you can just swap the mirrors and leave the base? Also, did he have to pull the headliner to install the wiring harness for it?
antirice, the suction cup mounts that come with V1 and the escort both have quick release mechanisms built in. You use those suction cup mounts without the suction cups combined with Mike's mount, so you still retain the quick release functionality. I practiced removing the plug and releasing the detector with one hand last night, just in case I do get pulled over. I know detectors are legal, but no sense giving the cop a reason to dislike me.

The two bolts on Mike's mount bolt to the Valentine mount where the suction cups used to be. You just remove the two suction cups and bolt the lower part of Mike's mount directly to that piece, then slide the detector in.
One nice thing about Mike's mount is that you can put a windshield reflector in front of it. I usually do that instead of removing the detector all the time.

You can also buy the Premium mirror directly from the manufacturer. They have several different models, but they all fit. Search for "50 GENK-40" on Google to find them. Here's one place that sells them.
I was going to purchase one of these mirrors, but my good buddy Ferk found a better deal on eBay.
