I just wonder how much a CAI changes the resonating air pluses in the whole intake plenum at low Rpm's, I personally like the idea of a cold air intake. Again nice write up! Pasta
Since I had three mods done at the same time (Cats, Timing Advance and CAI) it is very hard for me to tell that drivability was or was not impacted by the CAI as a stand alone mod. However, I am very satisfied with the whole package. The sound it nice and response seems to be improved. No adverse impact that I can tell and no CEL. When I do a post dyno, I will let the numbers speak for themselves. (I don't give much credibility to the butt dyno because everyone wants their mods to perform.)

Last two notes:

1. I drove back from Lokey in a rain storm with the confidence that the NISMO CAI has a water diverter built in. Would not have done the mod without it.

2. The timing advance does stick and it not returned to stock by the ECU as some have speculated. I monitored timing via the Blitz both before and after. Timing is definitely advanced 2-3 degrees across the entire RPM range.

FYI, final results are now posted in the reviews section of Driver. No changes from the preliminary.

Great Info.. they say you can safely add 1/2 to 1 deg of timing per 10 degrees cooler intake temps....

Nice... now how about a comparison of a true CAI to a "CAI" box like Stillen's?
