Lowering Springs

Ok guys....for those who may know.

I plan on getting some RSR lowering springs or some Tein coilovers (both with the SPC rear kit)

The latter being about twice as much. Are coilovers worth the extra $500 investment. And the next question would be...if I just get springs, are the RSR ti worth the extra cost (regular down springs are like $179 but the titanium costs like $320).

IMO go w/ the coilovers, the adjustability is unbeatable

go with coilovers and new sways. You will like the ride and adjustability much better.

It seems as if everyone bought the wrong springs. I say save your money and get the springs. The titanium will handle the enviroment better and last longer, but may not be worth the extra money. I guess they've gone up in price because they used to be like $25 more.

Coilovers are good for people who like to change their camber frequently. If you're looking for a "set it and forget it" setup, just do your research and buy a good set of springs. Gsedan35 can help you get the right springs for your ride if you ask him.

Yeah...Todd...Ive been following the suspension forum for like a year now and I do want a set it and forget it type system. But Gsedan35 seems to think just getting springs will mess up your shocks much quicker. But I should also take notice of the responses in this thread of folks who got springs and want coilovers.

I have researched the springs and the RSR springs get me the closest to my 2005 sport suspension with about a 1" drop. In fact...it would be much stiffer in the front and slightly stiffer rear. I figured $179 for the springs, ~250 for the SPC kit and $150 for all install is not bad. Thats $600 over about $1100 - $1200 on the coilovers. I could use that $500 in other ways (I would tell you guys...but its TOP SECRET).

C/Os are the way to go! All cars have a tendency to sag over time (usually towards the driver side). With C/Os you can make adjustments down the road...

How many of you people saying "coilovers" actually have owned a set before? Out of those, how many of you have actually raced, be it auto cross or heavy tracking. I'll even ask if you've ever had a friend who raced tell you that you NEED coilovers for a daily driver?

Anyone??? Coilovers for road use are WAY OVERKILL. It is a huge waste of money, but since it's your money I'll only give you input...

Hey...Todd...whats the deal with the SPC kit and that shop in O-town? You still doing it? What was his charge for install on those? Whats their phone number?

Never had c/o's, but I know enough people who have blown their stock shocks with lowering springs (from acuras to nissans to bmws, honestly I don't know that many lowered Gs). Often handling suffers big time, not to mention that a lot of people seem to think that neg camber is a good thing for handling so they live with it Again, it depends on what kind of drop you're looking for too. I don't want ANY wheel gap, so Tanabes/D-specs would set me back almost as much as the Basics..

Basics are WAY TOO STIFF for a daily driver. Spring rates are through the roof!!!

Anyone can install the SPC rear camber arms and toe bolts Jason. The local shop just sells the parts. Here's the link... http://iapdirect.com/item.asp?invid=622

Racing Zone in Orlando can install these when they install your springs/coilovers. You can drive around for a day or three on this set up before you'll need an alignment.
