I tested the effect of hot to cold air ingestion on the dyno and it made a big difference.

Using a trash can full of ice cubes and a nework of dryer ducting I was able to supply the intake with cold air at about 45' F. By mixing the cold air and with hot air from behind the radiator I was able to vary the mixture to vary the air temperature from ~ 50'F to 120'F.

I tested from lowest to highest in 10' F increments to see the effect on the power curve. And it really made a big difference. 10-15 HP across most of the curve.

Also note, at low temperatures the car ran leaner than normal and at high temperatures it began to run rich.

i'm thinking about putting MOTORDYNE ISO THERMAL 5/16 PLENUM SPACER KIT into my G35 Coupe 5AT.. should I also put my stock intake back? I have a Stillen w/ Z Tube

and also i've heard its waste of money if I put MREV2 on??

No, not at all. The Stillen well works well with the MREV2.
Keep your Stillen.

I see! Now, let's say I get rid of my CAI and get a Z-tube with a K&N filter. Although I was losing about 3+HP as you have mentioned, will I be able to tell the difference in gains with the Z-tube once I start driving the car? Is it that noticeable where people can really say "My car does feel faster!".
I'm EXTREMELY happy with the MREV2 + Spacer. But if you tell me that they will work much better if I get rid of my CAI, then I probably will get a Z-tube and K&N filter. Thank you in advance.

You know what.... I've never dynod a K&N intake.

I say take it to Performance Factory and get a baseline dyno. Remove the long tube CAI and dyno it again without removing the car from the dyno.

Then post you results here.

A lot of people would like to see your results.
