Suggestions.....for system

any suggestions on what speakers/amp I should get with my new Zenclosures box. I dont know anything about speakers or amps just heard that JL make a good product and Kenwood has good amps. Plus Sean said I migh have to replace my stock head unit. So I might need to get the double din conversion. Any suggestions on what I should do. I just want a clean sounding system no rattles.

Thanks in aadvance........

JL is good. I've liked Diamond Audio in the past, but I've been out of the stereo game for 3 years now. I'd say listen to others first or go to a stereo shop and check out all the different kids of speakers you could want in your car.

You don't have to replace your headunit. For your situation, I'd leave the stock headunit in place and tap into it.

Do you have the Bose system?

Is Kate going to let you install a system in her car? If not, sell the certificate.

I'm very pleased with my Orion speakers and subs; very clean sound and not as "pricey" as JL.

If you already have a speaker box, that will determine how many subs you plan on installing... after that, you have to decide how much power you want. You can go with a 1000 watt amp to power a couple of big subs, or a multi-channel amp to power the whole sound system, or a smaller amp just for the new sub.

You should have asked this question yesterday, you could have checked out everyone's systems.

Check out some of the stickies in the AVE forum... that's where I started...

well i was thinking of getting the box with the 2x10 speaker slots. But this is just based off looks.

Im looking for a clean sound i.e. I dont want to go deaf by the time im 30. I hate winning things because it gets me distracted away from my FI ambitions. This sucks.

If you get a couple of 10w6's, you'll probably need two 500/1's or a 1000/1 to power them.

you can use the 500/1 but you'll never reach the full potential of the two 10w6.

if you want two subs, then get two 10w3 and the 500/1 amp.

IMO one 10w6 is perfect w/ the 500/1 amp, it will be loud when you want but not too loud that will make your ear bleed

just make sure if you stick w/ the stock HU that you get a jl bass control ****, so you can adjust how much bass you want

Exactamundo!!!

My 500/5 splits out 250 to the sub and I have a 10w3v2. It's a great combination... way more base than the standard setup. Certainly less than a 500/1 and a 10w6 though. The advantage is that my 500/5 powers my whole sound system.

If you want the maximum, get two 10w6's and a 1000/1. That would be a neighborhood system.
